Urso :)

This last few months since I was diagnosed with PBC were incredibly hard, filled with uncertainty and fear, but I want to share some positive results from following a gradual increase in medication and dietary changes.

Although I struggled at first with Urso, and had to start with a slow dose increase (adding half a tablet every 15 days), my alkaline phosphatase (ALK) levels have dropped from 345 to 166 in 2 months.

I’m especially grateful for all the advice and support I received here. The encouragement from your comments kept me going, especially after I ended up in the emergency room when I initially started with four tablets a day. Thank you!

I am so happy to celebrate the great news from taking the Urso. I appreciate your story about how it's important to just take the Urso as your body tolerates it- not giving up on it. We all need some positives from the disease, don't we?!

Yes, Donna, The medication is very important. I finally feel hopeful again that my numbers will return to normal—and who knows, maybe one day my body can reverse the progress! :))

Great news, wishing you continued good health. I also experienced the shock of being diagnosed, like you PBC forced me to change my lifestyle for the better.

Thank you so much for your kind wishes. When my GI told me that PBC is no longer a death sentence, I found it hard to believe. He set a goal of getting my ALK down to 200, and here I am at 166—without even taking the full URSO dose yet. I’ve switched to a more vegetarian diet, reduced fat intake, and focused on staying stress-free. Please don’t let fear take over. Just take your medication and take good care of yourself!

Thank you for sharing. Your numbers are impressive. Unfortunately Urso was not enough for me but I’m glad there are meds in the market that work. Keep us updated…
