Following a blood test, requested by my Cardiologist and copied to my GP, I received an sms from the surgery telling me that my "vitamin D level is slightly low so I have sent the prescription for tablets to help bring levels up to normal for this to your pharmacy. To say I was gobsmacked would be an understatement. 👏👏
Following the take-over of my local, independent, Chemist, it has become a nightmare of a place, seldom having what's required and taking several days or more to obtain items, I now use Pharmacy2U - pharmacy2u.co.uk - and it seems to be working very well, items delivered in a couple of days by courier.

There are some good GP practices out there! I had a chest infection brewing over a weekend, left a message on e-consult at 8am Monday morning. The GP phoned me at 8.30am to go down to the surgery. By 9.30am I had my antibiotics and advice re MTX. I was so grateful for this outstanding service.
Ditto with our Pharmacy. It's gone totally down the pan. Plus the staff ignore you. OK they are probably stressed but they could at least acknowledge you. I now use Pharmacy2U and the postman brings my meds.
I have found this too. Mine went from brilliant to appalling until, in desperation, I did a bit of research and transferred to another local practice who are absolutely superb. Such a relief.
most people in the UK are low on vitamin D especially during the Winter months. Most people don’t have any sometimes. My body doesn’t store Vit D properly so mine is almost undetectable throughout the year unless I take treatment.
