5 months ago I had unprotected sex with a man I met on Reddit, three weeks later I started distributing flu like symptoms; afraid I have HIV
I 18F started showing signs of HIV 3 weeks after I stupidly had sex with a complete stranger who told me he was clean but I am now 90% sure was HIV positive, me being the dumbass that I am didn't see the red flags until it all set and done; I researched all of the symptoms two days after the encounter

Out of Remission. Starting over...
Hi everyone, Unfortunately after three months of remission I had a very bad flareup. The week before my husband and I were leaving for Maine (Sept) I decided to get a flu shot. Four days later while in Maine I started not to feel well. The usual PMR symptoms. I had no medication with me. My doctor

Do doctors actually care.
7 months ago I was very constipated a lot of pain when going to the toilet etc. I was given laxative and stool softeners by my doctors . I had a phone consultation with a consultant and was told that I will need a camera up the back passage. I was put on a waiting list and told to use the laxative and

If control measures are stopping flu in its tracks, why aren’t they stopping coronavirus?
As the COVID-19 pandemic rages, other respiratory illnesses have been unusually quiet this year. Fears of a dangerous influenza and COVID-19 “syndemic” have not come to pass as influenza cases reached some of the lowest rates ever observed. The near absence of the flu might reflect increased rates of

Interesting external urinary catheter for women
My friend told me about a product used with her mother in hospital. It’s called PureWick, a wicking suction device that functions as an external urinary catheter for women lying in bed. It is expensive, but for those who are exhausted by nighttime trips to the toilet or pad changes, or who want to avoid

Orgovyx
Beginning Orgovyx this week. Co pay $50/mo. Will see how it goes. Just finished focal proton radiation to a spot on a rib and 1 node with Dr Rossi at California Proton. No side effects. Medicare paid 100%. Have been on Firmagon 3 months to radiosensitize the cancer we planned to radiate prior to treatment

Secondary pneumonia- post covid/ventilator
Hi everyone, My dad is off the vent and off sedation. He is breathing on his own but still in the hospital. However, today they said his breathing was a bit laboured. They also said his white blood count was low. They are suspecting secondary bacterial pneumonia. They have already started treating it

Why am I suffering from sore windpipe and chest?
Every week I have a recurring sore throat and trachea particularly at the base and my chest is sore. I have a bit of a cough but not much. Talking makes it worse and the cold weather. Not sure if it’s worth seeing my gp?

Bronchiectasis In The Cold Weather
Good afternoon all I am just wondering how everyone here who has Bronchiectasis copes with the cold weather. I have been trying to get out for regular walks, whilst I am shielding, I have to get out as I am a postman, and if I don't walk regularly at least every other day, I know I will have trouble

Smokers cough compared to covid cough
Hi all Hope everyone is keeping well, so I tried to stop smoking a few months back and it was going ok up until December when I had a relapse and started again. I know have a really crackly cough, sometimes thick phlegm will come up and it sounds clear again. I am pretty sure this is due to the smoking

Uncontrolled Asthma, repeated asthma attacks every day. Do I have bronchiectasis?
I am 52, slim, fit, healthy and quite fit with a balanced healthy diet no milk but plenty of bio yoghurt. I supplement with vit c, vit D and probiotics daily. I have had asthma since 4yo, productive chesty cough for twenty five years, chest infections two to six times a year swiftly cleared by Amoxicillin

Covid pneumonia, sedation weaning not working
My dad has been in ICU 2 weeks now after testing positive for Covid pneumonia. He has some underlying health conditions and has been up and down during his time there. They have started the weaning process this week and they said his body is panicking when they do so. He has failed to cope with the reduction
