Hyperinflated lungs
I had pneumonia 2 years ago and chest xray showed hyperinflated lungs in line with copd. I had another xray 6 months later which still showed hyperinflated lungs. I had a pft 6 weeks after my pneumonia which was fine but I can't seem to get answers why my lungs are hyperinflated. All I have done is

Developing secondary pneumonia after COVID 19
Well here I am again. Patient experience with NDT (DTE)
By accident I came across this (openly available) paper on patient experiences with NDT v FT4. I thought it interesting enough to post here:

Feeling very cold and ill.
I've been aware recently, especially since it's been quite cold, that I go very cold as well, (in ear 35) cold and feeling really ill. Today I have had to resort to 4 thermal layers, hiking socks, turn the CH up and light a fire, and it took all morning, it's now 2pm, to get comfortable and start feeling

Ct values and (RT-PCR) SARS-CoV-2 tests -ASK FOR YOUR Ct VALUE before making radical treatment decisions
(I try to avoid Covid-19 comments or on molecular virology/biology on this forum, but this one seems appropriate given RoyProp's post. The use of Ct values is controversial, so don't assume anything I say is gospel, but plenty of studies are available to substantiate what I suggest. Look for Dr. Mina's

Pulled calf again! (W2R3 second attempt at Couchto5k after an injury last year)
I got home from work and got changed immediately whilst I was warm from my car. (My bedroom was cold as the heating isn’t on til later). I stupidly got engrossed into a text conversation for 15-20 mins, (in my cold bedroom). Didn’t realise the damage that would do. As with most of the UK, snow has fallen

Persistent Vegetative State
My 72 yo mother was hospitalized on 12/14. She had just been discharged on 12/11 after two months of battling pneumonia. I found her unconscious and unresponsive. She was taken to the ER by ambulance. She was immediately intubated and put on a ventilator. I was told by the Pulmonologist that she had

Will having a cold impact blood test?
A family member is booked in for an NHS blood test. Would having a slight cold impact results? If this appt is cancelled another one will not be available for 3 weeks.

This was my Storm Christof run - wind, rain, the whole works. So my time wasn’t as great as last time. I ran a little further - 5.63km - but didn’t want to push it because no-one wants to get the flu or a cold right now! A little knee twinge as well, so I stayed on the safe side, ran the same route and

Tumeric Tea
Hi, Does anyone have any recipes for a decent tumeric tea brew? I seem to be using it lots in cooking and I've heard of this type, but rather than trawl through endless youtube videos, some real world examples would be great as I'm not sure how I'd get on with the taste, Appreciate any ideas, thank you

Heterotopic Pregnancy... the universe just keeps on testing us!!
Currently writing this from my hospital bed 😞 Had the shock of my life yesterday at my private 7 week first scan - all was going well, the Sonographer managed to locate Baby 1 in the uterus perfectly on track, little heart beating away. What a beautiful sight to see, my husband and I felt overjoyed

Response to BBC comments
The helpline has had lots of people contact us regarding comments made on the BBC by retired Professor Salisbury regarding his opinions of the Oxford Covid-19 Vaccine. I have contacted the media department of vaccine team at Oxford requesting a reply in the media, but in the meantime I have a reply

Fostair causing coughing?
I have been diagnosed with asthma, either atopic asthma or non-asmatic allergic bronchitis in February of last year, had one appointment and now followed by a consultant vis phone appointments. I was on Clenil 100, 2 puffs 2x a day, and having sore throat, hoarse voice, etc. After a trial of montelukast

Thyroid S/ Flu Jab
Hi Guys It's been a long time since I contributed to the site, but have read plenty. I have ran out of my NDT (thyroid S) and still waiting for delivery, I placed the order in June last year. I have another bottle but I seem to remember there was a batch which wasn't quite right, and I know the bottle

Vaccine question for the professionals
I plan to take up the offer of the vaccine when I get it (March for over 60s..IF) but my brother, an orthodontist in the USA has delayed taking it as he remembered the link to flu vaccine in 1976, and some people developed GBS after swine flu vaccination, which was a special flu vaccine for a potential
