Great hepatologist not so great treatment
I see my hepatologist every 6 months because I am participating in the Intercept clinical trial. However, he doesn't really treat my illness. If I bring up anything, he tells me to contact my PCP. Even when I call to ask for say, a recommendation for safe OTC medications. My hepatologist is very knowledgeable

Ivermectin for Cancer
I picked up a little Ivermectin for its possible anti-Covid-19 properties. Maybe I should take it for PC? The mechanism discussed is above my pay grade, and it certainly seems unlikely that it is effective against all or most cancers. Highlights Ivermectin effectively suppresses the proliferation and

I am looking into a clinical trial with Nivolumab in treating Pc? Does anyone have any experience or information about this? My Google searches have limited results.

Has your Oncologist broke up with you???
Well Hello, On Thursday went to start my 2nd cycle of Topotecan, which I thought was the norm type of day - blood drawn, labs, visit Dr and then get treatment. Well when my Oncologist came into the room sat down and said he thinks it isn't working because lately I was getting nauseous. So he doesn't

NEVRO SCS
Hi, I'm Rob and like all of you, suffered chronic pain...myself, for over four decades. I attended St Thomas Hospital INPUT and took the residential course. CHAMP Clinical Trial Time for this kid
Greetings Brothers. Just met with my MO at Duke Cancer Institute and the clinical trials experts. Given my prostate has evolved to Gleason 10 and neuroendocrine (small cell) I'm in the process of qualifying for the CHAMP trial: Nivolumab, ipilimumab, cabazitaxel and carboplatin. I'm aware the predicament

Another clinical trial resource
When my sons treatment stops being effective, I start this rather panicked roller coaster ride of seeking new treatment and clinical trials. It’s just how I handle things and move forward I guess . I need to feel that I have left few stones unturned . My last search was in May. Today I got a followup

Ipatasertib+abiraterone effective in men with PTEN-loss
As genomic breakdown continues in prostate cancer metastases, PTEN, a tumor suppressor gene, and the protein it makes, is often lost. PTEN deletion is common even early (18% of prostatectomy samples). Without PTEN, the cancer cell signals proliferation with a chemical called AKT. Ipatasertib inhibits

Covid-19 vaccine efficacy in immunocompromised patients/gov.uk announcement
This was published by the government today. I would say it is quite good news, but please have in mind that *the data used is Real World Data (derived from electronic health records (EHRs), claims and billing activities, product and disease registries, etc), not from clinical trials researching about

Stay in trial or find a new one?
Started a clinical trial with Lynparza and AZD6738 ATR inhibitor on 3/15/2021. (My profile shows detailed history from diagnosis in 2014.) On start date my PSA was 17.77. It reached a nadir of 6.92 by 5/24/2021. In two weeks, on 6/9/2021, it had gone to 11.32! This past Tuesday, two weeks later, it rise
