New research finds an elevated risk of type 2 diabetes among people who take statins in an effort to lower their cholesterol levels.

Question about yeast/candida on skin
Hi, ladies! :) I’ve been dealing with a bad flare-up of candida (yeast) on the skin ever since summer hit. This Midwest heat is too much for my curves! 😩😂 So a little info: I’m plus-size. Nothing out of control, but definitely overweight. I sweat easily. I’ve dealt with this before under the abdomen

Statins cause heart failure
I just read a link on one of the posts about statins quoting a report from 2015 and published in the Clinical review of Pharmacology . It states that statins can cause heart failure by damaging the heart muscle. Does anyone know if this is true as it's very concerning if it is.

Side effects??
I’m new here and wondered if others had these side effects. I’m waiting for EP/Ablation for VT and Bigemini. Have been on statins and aspirins for a year then last month after a 24 hour monitor picked up multiple VTs was yanked into hospital and put in also Bisoprosol and Raprimil. To combat reflux I

Statins And Fake News
I saw the following article is Cardiovascular Business today. It seems that up to 1 in 3 may not be taking their prescribed statins because of the negativity around statins in the media and elsewhere. As a result many people may be shortening their lives. It is compared to the issue around vaccinations

Alternatives to Statins

Leg pain with other than statins and other meds.
After quitting statins because of severe leg pain I went to Welchol and had the same problem. I then went to the injection method with Repatha now, after six weeks it appears my leg pain is returning with a vengeance. (Leg pain did go away after quitting the other drugs). I'm at a loss as it appears

Statin Dilemma
I am a 61 year old woman; I was diagnosed with high cholesterol two and a half years ago. I had that appointment at the Lipid Clinic, and was advised to start a small dose of Statins, Simvastatin. At that time I refused to take the statins and was left to be reviewed at a later date. I was told that

Nagging doctors.
I recently had my annual blood test to check cholesterol and thyroid hormones, and surprise, surprise, I`ve had a text from my gp`s surgery asking me to make an appointment to discuss the results. I know from experience what happens next. I`m going to be told that my cholesterol is too high and that
