Abstract from U of Maryland by Costello & Ferguson
ABSTRACT All cases of prostate cancer exhibit the hallmark condition of marked decrease in zinc in malignancy compared to the high zinc levels in the normal and benign prostate. There exists no reported corroborated case of prostate cancer in which malignancy exhibits the high zinc levels that exist

PSMA pet scan negative
My PSA was 0.1 on july 17th and 0.3 on Oct 16th. PSMA scan was done on Nov 7th but was negative. Am I safe to assume there must be some prostate cancer cell present that are not showing up on the scan? I am meeting with my MO at Dana Farber next week Any suggestions moving forward? I appreciate the

Stopping abiraterone
OK, specific question time here. I've been on Abiraterone+Prednisone for about a year and a half, with a 2 month break around Christmas last year. My Doc says the normal course of Abiraterone is about 18 months, and I think that we're kind of dancing around discontinuing the drug, for me. I know that

Moved from Abi to Nubeqa and saw a PSA increase
I recently switched from Abiraterone/Prednisone to Nubeqa because of the high blood pressure that I had with Abi requiring additional BP meds. I was previously .058 a month ago when I switched and .109 today, almost double in a month. Any one with experience with this switch?

Thinking of taking an ADT vacation
Hi, just got my latest PSA result yesterday...it was 0.07 ug/l down from 0.14 ug/l one month ago. I'm almost at the 6 month mark of my ADT journey. Six months ago, my PSA was 14.9 ug/l. I'm thinking of taking a break from the ADT because of the side effects. Is it too risky? Would the PSA start

Slowly Rising PSA - Getting Nervous
It seems in the last 4 months it has been rising more. Doctors are waiting until in gets to the standard 0.2 before starting radiation. I do understand why they need to wait as the PSA isn't high enough yet for the risk/reward of treatment. 03/17/2023 0.029 04/22/2023 0.032 08/23/2023 0.046 12/07/2023

History of my cancer becoming castrate resistant
Thinking that some people might be interested to know how my metastatic cancer became castrate resistant I posting a brief history. When on Lupron break, my PSA reached 1.1 on June 1, 2022. I had a CT scan which found a new lymph node enlargement [Retrocaval lymph node measures 0.5 x 1.1 cm (series

Scans other than PSMA for PC
My husband’s PSA continues to rise yet his PSMA scans are all clear. His last PSMA was late October with a PSA of 4.7 His PSA today was 6.5 It seems I have noted on this forum some other type scans should be done besides PSMA. His ALK PHOSPHATE is 85 (normal) Calcium levels all normal. Thanks

Should I be concerned about a PSA of 0.53 after SBRT treatment for one spot.
After 18 months of undetectable PSA (after ADT & 44 IMRT treatments) , my PSA started to rise this summer and was 2.66 at it's highest. My RO send me for a PSMA- Pet scan and he found one spot on T-10. 5 treatment with SBRT in Oct - Nov and now on Dec 6th my PSA was tested to
0.53.

Stopping Abi?
I meet with my MO Thursday. We will likely discuss coming off Abiraterone, as my 2 year anniversary is upcoming. Probably continue on Eligard for another year, following stampede trial. PSA reached undetectable early in my treatment and remains undetectable. SE. aren’t fun, but manageable. Don’t

Dizziness from Zytiga/prednisone?
my MO tried something out of the ordinary - let me have a 'vacation' from ADT for a short while, even though i am Castrate -resistant. he was hoping we coudl keep PSA down while my Testosterone recovered, to see if that woudl make me feel better. to use his words, i have 'complained bitterly of the
