My PSA dropped from 1.03 in July 2023 to 0.248 in February 2024. It's never been anywhere near this low, since I began getting tested in my 50s, even before I was diagnosed in 2008 (Gleason 7). I'm 77.
I'm not on ADT, don't have metastatic disease. Since HIFU in 2015, which was a hemi-ablation but left residual cancer in the apex of the prostate, my PSA has hovered around the 1.5 range, except for a scary (to me) rise to 2.2 in May 2019. Which is when I went whole hog on a bunch of supplements to fight the cancer, including mebendazole and various herbal extractions, none of which are proven to do anything but I just seized on whatever passed for studies anyway. I also take a statin for cholesterol and metaformin for pre-diabetes.
I don't want to be doubting what seems like good news, but when I saw that result I wondered if it was actually somebody else's, or maybe the lab changed the reference range (they hadn't). I've actually never heard of PSA being this low except when on ADT or I guess in much younger men. I can't get another test for 3 months. Any ideas out there?
