Trying to reduce cholestrol while staying gluten free
Hi I have Hashimoto disease so I decided to go gluten free about a year ago. I was on 100mg but now been reduced to 75mg all good. The other day I was sent to hospital with a possible TIA (small stroke) I had a CT and neck scan and nothing showed up? However the doctors despite this want to give me statins

ASTRO, ASCO, & AUA strongly endorse a shortened course of IMRT for primary therapy
They strongly endorsed moderate hypofractionation (20 or 26 treatments) but only conditionally endorsed SBRT because they didn't consider any data after 3/31/2017. I think SBRT will receive a strong endorsement by this time next year. There is no reason any patient should have to suffer through and pay

I’ve been living with a cancer diagnosis since November 19, 2008. What a journey! Recently, the nurse for my oncologist at the Proton Center in Jacksonville, Fla., where I had 19 proton beam treatments, 18 IMRT radiation treatments, and 7 taxotere treatments from March -May 2009, called me. She said

As a part of LCHF diet , we aim at eating 60-70% of our daily calories from Fat. Words, Abbreviations & Acronyms
As I read the posts here I am often overwhelmed by the acronyms, abbreviations, and drug names. I rarely know what they refer to. So I'm offering to compile a list of them not only for my own edification and understanding, but for others who might come here and be as confused as I am. So...here are

Concerned Mother
My son was dx at age 35 with high triglycerides...also hypertension. He takes his medication but his diet is terrible in every way. Is high cholesterol the same as high triglycerides? Last night he ordered a pepperoni pizza.

Correlation between start of Lupron and start of RT
in my case Eligard. RO seems adamant about starting IMRT right at the 2 month mark from my 6 month Eligard injection. I am not getting the reasoning. (plan on asking him next week) common sense would make one wonder, why not start RT at 4 months? 3months? Is PC more radio sensitive at 2 months than 4

Vegans save the planet (possibly)
Jerry raised an important point the other day concerning human health and the health of the planet. While it’s fashionable these days to tout meat-free diets as a cure for global warming (I think Angela Merkel was the latest to make a statement along those lines) it’s not really that simple. Some facts

Tapering 15-12.5
Hi Gp has told me to start tapering to 12.5 mgs as I’ve been on 15 mg Pred since diagnosis 8 wks ago. Letting me chose how I do it. She suggested alternating dose days for 2 wks then straight to 12.5. Does that sound gd or should I do the very slow nearly stop taper. I need to reduce, and it’s time,
