Moving on...to olaparib
I recently updated to ask about chemo options, mainly cabazitaxel with or without carboplatin, or a second round of docetaxel, this time with carboplatin. I had been discussing these with my Mayo doctors, Kwon and Orme. Then earlier this week, Dr. Orme phoned me to report that after another genetic

Left zytiga in another state
my husband forgot his zytiga and dexamethasone at home in Mississippi. We are in Texas for his father’s funeral which is Saturday. Can anyone help us problem solve. How much of a problem is it if he misses 3 doses?

I have started Xgeva and also was able to get a prescription for Estrogel Transdermal gel. Will start Xofigo Radium 223 that was approved last week. I am still taking abiraterone and dexamethasone and it is not working, PSA has been climbing. My Question is, should I switch the abiraterone for

Hello again - I had three treatments with Lutetium-177 at the Anadolu clinic in Istanbul after being referred there by Dr. Kwon at the Mayo. The last treatment was in February 2023 and my most recent PSA was 40. I had chemo with docetaxel at the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center in Nicosia from Dec 2021

Radium 223 and (AdcalD3) calcium supplements
Hi I was hoping for some clarity here as I've been getting different advice in the UK. I think the advice is to keep off the calcium supplements 7 days before a Ra 223 injection and then return to the tablets a few days after. Similarly my Zometa (Zoledronic Acid )injection should be timed so it

bombing a flare
When excruciating sciatica sent me to the emergency room several years ago, I was administered 20mg of dexamethasone (Decadron) to cut the rampant inflammation, which provided relief within an hour. That was followed by a Medrol pack for the next week and, with exercise, I got over the sciatica. Of course

Next treatment options available for advancing disease
I have completed all scans available to me and they show new metastatic disease throughout my skeleton. PSA @ 4.65 ug/L. The disease continues to advance while being treated with Zoladex and abiraterone. I have switched prednisone for dexamethasone and haven't had an updated blood test yet to see if

Dexamethasone & Chloramphenicol. Do they cause blurred vision?
Went down to eye casualty as still had sensitivity and irritation from my cataract op though my vision was clear. No infection but the eye is very dry still. Seems the dry eye drops aren't doing a lot. I need to use my heat mask at least once a day. They've stopped the Betamethasone I was given after

PSA Climbing while on Zoladex and Abiraterone with Prednisone
I have an appointment with Oncologist today. Going to ask if i can switch the prednisone for dexamethasone. Not sure if they will approve it. I was scheduled to start Xgeva. As I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis due to having ADT since 2017. What other treatment should I look forward to having

Fighting a virus
My wife and I recently had a possibly surprising experience with a virus that broke through our previously robust biosecurity measures. When I went down with it, I had a slightly raised temperature (briefly + 2°C, but mostly only about 1°C above 'normal') and felt a bit ill for a few days - but was

Prednislone and Anxiety
I've been reducing from 20mg pred since November 2022, currently on 11mg. Since Christmas I have had episodes of extreme anxiety, depression, mood swings and tearfulness. My Rheumy this morning suggested swapping to Betamethasone which does not cross the blood/brain barrier. However, when I researched

Slow rising PSA. Wait and watch?
Hello everyone My father has been on ADT since two years (Zytiga and Lupron). His PSA fell from 500 at diagnosis to 0.41 last September. Since then it has slowly been creeping up. In 5 months it has risen to 0.74. I have got his PSA tested every month so this is not a random jump but a slow increase
