Hypo/Hyperthyroidism compared to Menopause symptoms
I've just been reading an article in Saturdays Telegraph on someones story on the Menopause. Having passed through the menopause many years ago, I was reminded of the affect it had on my life at that time. Having forgotten quite a few of the symptoms, I realise that having had a total thyroidectomy

Are my iron levels ok?
Hi. At last I have managed to get a blood test done for iron levels. Could you, Sue Johnson, please comment on them? I feel the ferritin is quite high, which should be good, but am not sure about the other results. Ferritin: 176.5. Ug/ L 10.0-291.0 Serum Iron 16.1. Umol/L. 9.0-30.4 Transferrin

New Here — Most Recent Arrhythmia
Hi, all — I initially posted this to the Afib Forum but just found this group, which seems more appropriate. I was experiencing episodes of tachycardia sometimes lasting up to a half hour or so. Being a non-cardiologist, my first thought was Afib and, indeed, that’s what my Apple Watch said. I ended

HRT issues - Plus need to hear about experiences with testosterone
I've been on continuous HRT - Utrogestan 100mg, 2 pumps of oestrogel daily and 1 vagirux tablet twice weekly since October 2022. I'm 45. I recently switched from oral to vaginal utrogestan due to depressed mood but that definitely doesn't suit me so I switched back after 11 days. I started to experience

Dofitilide without Afib??
Hi, all — not sure this is the right place to be, since it doesn’t really appear that I have AFib. I was experiencing episodes of tachycardia sometimes lasting up to a half hour or so. Being a non-cardiologist, my first thought was Afib and, indeed, that’s what my Apple Watch said. I ended up going

Advice on Aortic Regurgitation
Hi, I need help with coping with severe fatigue which started Sunday 11th December. To give some more context, it started Friday 9th. I woke up dizzy. Other than that, I had energy and felt fine. I went to the hospital and they suspected BPPV. Bloods were all okay. The dizziness is better but fatigue

Endometrioma, dizziness and HRT
I have been applying Oestrogel and taking Utrogestan once a day and I feel better in that my joint pain and lower back pain go away, I have tons more energy, I feel happier but after I am on it for a few days, I start getting discomfort from the only ovary I have left which has an endometrioma in it

natural hormonal balancing solutions
hi I’m waiting for an op for Adenomyosis and endo this year. I also have fibroids. I’m due for a full hysterectomy - including removal of ovaries and tubes. I gave a coil fitted but it’s not very effective due to the size of my uterus due to my condition. I am getting menopause symptoms but I’m not

Worsening RLS
Will get my Ferrutin checked . Aged 62 female. I have started knitting and sit still for several hours in the evening and wonder if that isn’t helping-had a night off knitting and a night off RLS on Saturday! Clutching at straws? Also associate it with being hot in bed. Not taking any meds at all

Seeking menopause advice
My period ended at 46 but now that I’m 50 enter mood swings, brain fog & insomnia. Is it normal to have menopause symptoms this many years after my last period. What treatments have worked well? I’m all about natural remedies first & foremost but at this point I’ll consider HRT if others can convince

How to take Levo before a blood test when I split my dose, and feritin level
Dear friends, I would like advice on how to stagger my Levo before my next blood test on 8th. I normally take my 75mcg tab in two halves,, half in the morning and half in the evening. I started doing this because I found that when I took it in one dose it took a long time to feel the benefit, then I

NSAIDS anyone ?
When I was diagnosed with RA in 1989 , along with other medication , I was given diclofenac as a NSAID . This was later changed to Meloxicam by my rheumatologist . Which I took daily until this year . Fast forward to May 2021 and I tripped on a step in the house and fell heavily onto my left hip

High iron & Low B12, maybe? New labs interpretation please
Apologies for what will probably be a long post... Recently I've been feeling pretty hypo (crap) - the usual stuff, fatigue, knackered all the time, low mood, no interest in things, hair falling out, but also with a few worsening symptoms - including cognitive decline, and by that I mean like short

Hi guys I'm sero-negative. My big joints were affected first - had right knee replacement and hip replacement six months later aged 54 and although initially recovered well from knee replacement - couldn't sit to stand from chair, loo etc and couldn't get of crutches. Had lots of symptoms but still

Knee replacement
Morning my lovely friends! I have to have a knee replacement in the very near future. I am on 4 mg Pred, can probably get down to 3,5 mg. before I have it. Your experiences please —— I am 80 years old and really worried about it. I do understand that it is very very painful but does the Pred hinder

Adrenal saliva test & DHEA
So at my last GP appt to review all my results, 21 months of blood tests* since the multinodular goitre was discovered in May 2021, the GP said I do not have primary thyroid and I need to let it go, he believes my symptoms are carers burnout. I raised secondary/central thyroid and we seemed to reach
