HRT shortages after oophorectomy

Hi everyone

How is everyone coping, what have you done around the HRT shortages?

For me it's the utrogestan, I paid for it back in February and was given 30 days worth (should have been 90). But they haven't had any in stock since.

I am starting to get concerned about endo growing back, and how quickly that would happen - does anyone know, has anyone experienced this?

Love to hear from anyone with advice or help!

Thanks everyone

Abby

I've managed to get utrogestran by shopping around. Like you I was given 90 days. However I had to revert to an older style of HRT patches to the ones I use normally. The manufacturer was out of the smaller ones. I believe you can take progestogen (degestrorel) to protect your womb lining too. It's a less effective drug than utrogestran but offers something at least. My menopause nurse took me off this degestrorel when I told her I no longer needed contraception (although I didnt previously cos my husband had the snip) and said the utrogestran was enough and a better drug. All the best moving forward!
