Surgery and Pred?
I am due to have a knee replacement fairly soon - I met someone else with PMR yesterday and she asked me whether I intended to increase my dose of Pred prior to surgery. I'd not thought about this and I hope it's not necessary. Can anyone advise? Thank you.

Iron & PLMD
I had an iron panel done a while back, is there any explanation or link to PLMD & the transferrin % being so high? My ferritin test from about a month ago was 200ug/l & had previously been about 250ug/l. I did start regular b12 jabs around the time of the 250 test,so that might account for the ferritin

post menopause bleeding
Hi all, I’m a 64 year old woman whose periods stopped when I was 50, I chose HRT after a few years of non stop daytime sweats, zero concentration and bursting into tears at the drop of a hat 🙈 I stopped the HRT back in 2020 but had to start it again last year as the sweats returned with a vengeance

recovery expectations
Hi all I’m coming up to 5 weeks after valve replacement, removal of web and thinning of thickened muscle. Had x ray and ecg, 60% healed and function looking good apparently. Which is great news. I’ve been walking each day, I’m up to a couple of miles and on short hills BPM up to 130. May have overdid

Thyroid medication changes when starting HRT for perimenopause
I have been self medicating with liothyronine and levothyroxine for the past two years or so. Today I started the estrogen patch for perimenopause symptoms, and will also start progesterone in a couple of days. The provider that prescribed these said that some women need to increase their thyroid

Iron supplementation
Hi I have Hashimoto's - as yet untreated due to fluctuating TSH levels. My symptoms are numerous, and due to low levels of B12 and vitamin D, I am supplementing those. I am gluten Soy and Dairy free. My ferritin has been historically low and the GPs have frequently me prescribed Ferrous Fumarate.

Patches (I'm depending on you, son)
Dated pop reference - sorry. While my research has continued, my oncologist has nothing to give me within the SOC to keep the PSA in check. Now I've witnessed another unwelcome visitor: facial hair (it only took me 70 yrs to start shaving....) Joking aside however, that means the T is on the rise.

Help and Advice
I have been suffering some time now ( years perhaps ) with debilitating symptoms such as exhaustion, puffy face, coldness, constipation, dry skin, hair shedding, muscle aches and more recently severe numbness and pins and needles in my hands. I thought this may be the onset on menopause as I am now
