Sad news - Sheila Turner

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Sheila Turner, founder of Thyroid Patient Advocacy (TPA), has died at the age of 81.

Sheila founded TPA in order to help patients who did not resolve all of their symptoms on levothyroxine. She was a great advocate for NDT for thyroid patients and helped thousands of patients to access the medication that worked for them.

Although Sheila was an accomplished painter, she put her painting to one side so that she could focus entirely on helping thyroid patients.

Thyroid UK worked with Sheila on occasion over the years and I really admire her for all that she did for thyroid patients.

She will be sorely missed by many.
