Ferritin recommendation needed
Just had the results of my latest blood tests via the GP's phone call. I am in Spain and my previous sympathetic Dr has unfortunately left. This Dr was very abrupt .... TSH too low, drop to 50mg per day of Levothyroxine (previously 5 days 75mg/2 days 50mg spread over the week). Tried to explain I am

Completely lost
Guys. I have hypothyroidism on a cellular level - meaning it is not primary, not secondary, but underactive/unresponsive within the cells. TSH normal, low- end of range t4 and t3. Both levothyroxine and Armour have increased my symptoms and made me very ill as they are not making it into the cells. Endocrinologists

Is a Fibroscan more accurate than ultrasound?
Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post. I wish I'd found this site and forum years ago! I was diagnosed with PBC eight years ago and have been taking Ursodiol ever since. A Fibroscan showed cirrhosis at that time with a reading of 35 kPa. I had scans every two years since then until my last reading

A light bulb moment!
Having just read all the responses to the post by gKetan30 regarding costings of treatment for PMR/GCA, it made me suddenly realise how easily I've taken for granted access to the medication I take! I'm prescribed Alendronic Acid, Prednisolone (5mg, 2.5mg & 1mg enteric coated tabs) Calci-D, Propanolol

Anxiety medication and PBC
Hi, just want to preface this post by saying I’m seeing my doctor at the end of the week but I’m wondering if anyone is willing to share if they take anxiety medication and Ursodiol for PBC. I have always struggled with anxiety and lately, am having random panic attacks so I’m thinking about taking as

Just Need Some Help
I am just having a horrendous time and don't know what to do. I have been bleeding every single day since January 2019. I had the copper coil fitted for 7 months and couldn't handle it anymore so had it removed. In that time, I was hospitalised twice due to the pain. The bleeding has never stopped

Help with Alendronic Acid Please
Hi I’m new to this forum, and this is my story. It’s a bit longwinded, but I think all the facts are important in order to make valid comments I am a long-term pain sufferer from muscle spasms of the neck and also more recently (5 years or so) from a torn rotator cuff both of which cause migraines

Apitherapy for Parkinson’s Disease: A Focus on the Effects of Propolis and Royal Jelly - 2020
I switched from Google to DuckDuckGo and found this surprising article. https://www.hindawi.com/journals/omcl/2020/1727142/ 5. Evidence from Preclinical Studies The effects of both propolis and its flavonoids and RJ and its lipids on PD were examined both in vivo and in vitro. The findings indicate that

Hyaluronic Acid and CLL
I have been using a Revitalift over the counter face serum that is 1.5% Hyaluronic Acid sold as a treatment for wrinkles and aging skin. I seem to remember somewhere that there is a tie to CLL. Does anyone have any info on this? TIA

Mirena for heavy periods
Hello, I had the Mirena coil fitted 4 months ago for heavy periods, with fibroids and adenomyosis. I had to wait a year to get a gynecology appointment, and had a hysteroscopy, and the Mirena fitted at the same time. I have not had a follow up appointment, and have been finding it hard to even get through

Is anyone on Endometriosis treatment taking supplements for IVF egg quality?
Hi All, I’m looking to start a new IVF cycle after taking a break following 2 unsuccessful cycles a few years ago. I suffer from endometriosis and currently on Decapeptyl SR 3mg and Tibolone. My previous failed IVF cycles were due to poor quality eggs which resulted in no pregnancies. After reading

Rheumatologist consultation since my original post
Today I have, finally, received a copy of a letter from my Rheumatologist, sent to my GP, following my consultation on the 1st July. Under “Diagnosis” she has written; ?Polymyaglia Rheumatica, ?Ploymyalgic Arthritis. So, apparently, the jury is still out! Under “Medication” she has put; 1. Prednisolone
