Hi all right long story short I started my period last wed morning at 10am all day it wasn't hardly heavy till Thursday, Friday and abit on Saturday which I took tranexamic acid for them 3 days in hope it would reduce my heavy flow but tbh I didn't see any difference until Saturday but on Saturday night I stopped taking the tranexamic acid .... then on Sunday the bleeding was abit lighter all day and night then Monday I noticed no blood hardly on my pads but only when I go to the toilet I noticed blood when I wiped 🙄 then day 6 Tuesday I noticed no blood again on my pads only a very tiny smear of it on the morning but it was BROWN BLOOD even when I wiped this went on all day till around 8pm I noticed PINK BLOOD 😑 but still no blood on my pad all night or this morning day 7 so this morning I got up went to the loo and still no blood on my pad 🤯 and hardly any on the toilet paper but the I noticed some light blood mixed with normal discharge...... what could this mean please as I don't know anymore when my periods come to an end anymore due to them been prolonged for many years!

I need some advice on this and when to know when periods tend to end 😕? As I'm still wearing pads and I feel like I'm wasting them as I'm not getting any blood coming out on my pads and this has been happening now for 2 days but I notice the blood when going to thw toilet only but it hasn't been much

Hiya, (me again). It sounds like the acid is working, it does take a couple of days to get into your system, which would explain why the bleeding for lighter the final day of taking the acid. It’d also explain the brown blood (which is totally normal last days of a bleed) and the light pink (which is probably just left over blood mixing with your regular discharge). It sounds like the acid has worked for you! (I can’t remember how long you said your bleeds typically are, but it might just be spotting now if they’re around a week). Instead of pad maybe free bleed (if you’re comfortable), panty liners or period pants. But speak to a pharmacist if you’re concerned or have questions about the medication, they know more than doctors when it comes to medicine; they’d be able to inform you on past medications and the current ones you’re taking and maybe what to expect. But it sounds like the acid has done it’s job!

I don't know how long my periods last as I've only just started getting them after years on pill but both only lasted 3 or so days with the 4th day getting just pink blood when wiping. Also usually get bit of pink when wiping the day before it starts. So I've bought some reusable cloth pads to use on days 0, 4 and 5 in case of any discharge on pad so I'm not wasting pads and better for environment. Glad your period seems to have stopped
