Thyroidectomy
I am new here and am a little confused to say the least. Following routine thyroid test and ultrasound, I will have an operation in two weeks. Multiple benign nodules and one large one (29x31x59 MM.). My FT3 on bloods is 3.59 (range 2.3 - 3.9) and FT4 is 0.96 (range 0.61 - 1.25). My TSH is the

Synthroid anyone?
I have been scheduled for
thyroidectomy
. Should I insist my GP allows me to try Synthroid or similar first? I have been told there is a 50/50 chance of bleeding to death with this surgery. Not very good odds. Thanks for any information.

Papillary carcinoma histopathology report
Hi all, 7 years ago I had a total
thyroidectomy
and the report read: Thyroid gland and level VI nodes - Papillary carcinoma involving right hemithyroid, 28 mm diameter, with 3/6 level VI nodes involved, pT2 n1 a My understanding is that unluckily and unexpectedly the cancer was spread to lymph nodes.

Struggling with Thyroid Eye Disease
I was diagnosed with TED in March this year, shortly after having a total
thyroidectomy
. I'd been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism 18 months previously and as my condition was never stabilised on carbimazole a total
thyroidectomy
was deemed to be appropriate.

Radioiodine - do I have unusual resistance?
I had a total
thyroidectomy
for papillary thyroid cancer in 2013, a lump in my right thyroid lobe, followed by 1.1GBq radioiodine ablation shortly after. Six months later I had a follow up ultrasound which showed a 5x5x8mm lump left in my left thyroid bed.

Help. Thyroid Cancer Survivor now MPN Survivor?
I had thyroid cancer at 26 and was treated with a
thyroidectomy
and a great big dose of radioactive iodine. I'm totally lost and thoroughly disgusted. I've been tired, achey, vague headaches, and random tingling in my hands and feet.

Total thyroidectomy after partial - any surprises in store?
So, I had a partial
thyroidectomy
last month and the remaining half will be removed at the end of this month (papillary carcinoma). I'm suppose I'm just looking for a bit of quick reassurance from people who had a TT done in 2 stages. I felt pretty ok after my first surgery, all things considered.

More boring test results
My latest results are: T4 11 (9-19) TSH 3.4 (0.4 - 5.00) and guess what that's 'NORMA'L range as far as they are concerned I had a total
thyroidectomy
in 2001, it just upped and went into self destruction (was like a stone welded to my pharynx apparently).

Surely Waiting this Long Can't Be Right???
4) Will a surgeon perform a complete
thyroidectomy
rather than a partial one if I ask for it? Thanks for reading, I hope some of you can help shed some light for me here!

Hi, I had a part
Thyroidectomy
and then later a brain Tumour in 2009 it was removed and I got a bit better. My walking was bad then but has improved by sheer will power I think. I get a lot of pain and Muscular upsets, not sure exactly what my conditions are to date, sorry to be so morbid.
