The continuing saga of the purple toe
Surprise, surprise, after having a MRI scan of my legs, an echocardiogram, an ECG and a twenty four hour heart monitor, no trace of blockages except what the consultant called a 'pinch' in a leg artery, suspected of causing a blood clot and the purple toe. But, on my last appointment with the consultant

Beta Alanine, okay or not okay?
Many pre workout supplements include beta Alanine. I used it in my pre PCA days because I felt it did help with the workout intensity, particularly those exercises that are short...I.e. weight lifting. Anyway, I liked the additional energy release and the slight tingly feeling when using this supplement

Hi I’m dory10. I was diagnosed inDec2019 but had it for 27 years. I fall over a lot now I’m having tests to find out why.
I fell down stairs expecting my 3rd child at 37 weeks . She was fine a genius infact but I was left in muscle spasms and so much pain. I was told I was so close to being a paraplegic. I put up with all the little things that went wrong, I was fortunate not to be paraplegic. In 2016 I had a minor car

Stopping Block and Replace
After 8 long years I have decided to try stopping BR ( 5mg. Carbimazole and 75 mcg. Levo ) to check for remission. Just come back from GP appoint. that unexpectedly went well ( usually try and avoid them for thyroid issues) I chose a GP trainer hoping he might know a bit more about AITD. Receptionist

Armour Thyroid produced exclusively in USA?
I spoke with Roseway clinic in London who said they get their Armour Thyroid from Canada. I thought it was exclusively manufactured in USA. I came across a Canadian pharmacy called Forest who say they supply Armour Thyroid. Is it identical to Armour Thyroid from USA? Any advice will be greatly appreciated

GCA and hair loss
Have been on pred now since end of July 2023 - originally 60mg now tapered to 20mg. (stay on 20mg for 2 weeks). Feel fine on that dose. Will taper to 18 mg in a week Mon. and stay on it for 2 weeks, etc. then down by l0% every 2 weeks if all holds. I am losing my hair. Will taking folic acid help?

PMR/Hiatus hernia and PPIs
I’m not sure what to do now. I was diagnosed in February with PMR and prescribed Omeprazole and 15mg pred (now down to 10mg). Hiatus hernia was discovered during a scan a couple of months ago. No particular problems with Omeprazole but asked for a different PPI after reading negative reports about a

Oestrogen levels
I know this is a menopause question but I can’t find the answer on other forums. I have underactive thyroid and having tests to see if symptoms are thyroid or hrt/menopause The test for Oestrogen level shows 337 range refers to follicle/luteal phase which isn’t relevant as it’s def menopause Is 337
