Surprise, surprise, after having a MRI scan of my legs, an echocardiogram, an ECG and a twenty four hour heart monitor, no trace of blockages except what the consultant called a 'pinch' in a leg artery, suspected of causing a blood clot and the purple toe.
But, on my last appointment with the consultant, I was sent for a scan on my abdomen and what a surprise - it showed an aortic aneurysm. Seems the problem lies in my genes that I inherited from my father who died from an aneurysm.
As it is mainly men that smoke/drink (I do neither) that suffer an aneurysm, it's only men that get checked out when they reach 65. I shall have check ups every two years to see how fast the aneurysm is growing but at least I'm now aware that I have one. Thank you purple toe for bringing it to light!

Thanks Sandy for your reply. It was a pinched artery in the leg, not a nerve. I think it was a medical term for anything that reduced the size of the artery, hence it could be a build up of cholesterol. I was told they could do something if I wanted them to but I decided to leave well alone. I am currently taking clopidogrel as a blood thinner which will help. I do have high cholesterol, it was 8 last year but have been taking olive oil etc so will ask for another blood test next week when I see my own doctor.
Thank you for your response. You can leave it alone but keep an eye on toe.
I will be 78 next month, most of my blood numbers are high but no one can tel me if the high number is related to my age. After a long time we went on holiday, food wad good, three meals a day, put on some weight, looking to reduce the weight in three months.
In Malaysia my wife purchased a device, itera classic blower. the device used Tera Hertz frequency , blue light radiation to help with human body health and energizing water for one or two minutes. The energised water is supposed to be good.
My Dad plus his 2 brothers had abdominal aneurisms and I was advised because of that to have a scan every 5 years even though I am a female. I have had one which came back fine.As you say it affects men more but its not exclusively men.
Indeed thank you purple toe where you are concerned, they do tend to grow extremely slow usually so good to have a 2 yearly check up.
Thank you Emma 2017, it's good to know that they are so slow growing. I think I've had mine for some years so I have to thank my doctor for sending me to see a consultant and consequently all the tests that followed. Without them, I would be none the wiser.
