Hi All,
It seems to me one of the most common hypo complaints revolves around a slighty lazy digestion and slower bowels than desirable with poor absorption of nutrition from the food and a life taken up with researching any buying a load of supplements to mitigate the shortfall.
This has certainly been my experience too.
This may be about to change with the introduction of a daily dose of inulin which is a powder which I mix with the morning smoothie and has been researched for a wide range of health outcomes.
You can google any of this if you are interested.
Whether any of this is correct or not in all our individual cases I do not care than much as it achieves something truly remarkable to combine 2 outstanding features.
Bowel function improves
Following very careful titration up to a really decent dose after a few weeks (this is absolutely essential), everything post digesting a meal suddenly seems to work day in day out without a single off day. Feels like when I was a teenager all over again.
Appetite suppressant
This works pretty much from day 1 (or when you are able to tolerate a reasonable dose) - you simply feel next to no hunger for the rest of the day. Astonishing really.
Are there risks?
There are loads of warnings with this product - won't work if you on a FODMAP diet and are sensitive to certain vegetables with certain sugars ( comes from chicory root), but crikey this is one of the most life changing interventions that I have undertaken since being confirmed as hypo 6 years ago.
If this has been discussed at length here - I have missed it, so hope to get some debate going and see how others find this. I feel it works very synergistically with Berberine
