hi

I forgot to ask my rheum nurse about my hair. I’m on methotrexate and seems to be ok with no abnormal hair loss but since taking it I haven’t had my hair highlighted . Anybody advice with this ? I have left message on advice line but wondering others people’s experience. Thanks

I’ve been on mtx for over 10 years. For most of that time I have had my hair coloured regularly and I haven’t suffered any abnormal hair loss.

Like Helenlw7, I have regularly had my hair coloured/lightened while being on MTX. I'm 55 now, and I've been on it since I was about 21/22 so over 30years. No abnormal hair loss as a result of colouring either. 😊

I take mtx and biologics and my hair is highlighted to death. No hair loss

I have had RA for twenty years and have my coloured every 6-8weeks no I’ll effects.

Have mine done every 8 weeks even when suffering hair loss to begin with on MTX. Life goes on 🤷‍♀️

I was on Mtx for years & had my hair coloured regularly with no problems at all.I have baby fine hair that sheds all the time…but it was no worse when on Mtx.

Hi, I’ve been ok with lowlights, I kept the scalp clear of colourant having said that, it was a one off and I mentioned to my hairdresser that I had lupus so she could use the best products for my hair.

I’ve been on methotrexate for a long time and felt better after discussing it with the hairdresser.
