Hypothyroid and Birth control
Anyone had any luck with hormonal BC whilst managing their thyroid? I have had my thyroid managed for years with the help of my dr. She has advised only non hormonal options for BC which I’ve followed for years. Recently I got a copper IUD placed and had serious issues and had to get it removed

How does taking thyroid hormone switch off our own hormone production?
I’m relatively new to this group and learning so much and incredibly grateful to the wealth of knowledge here. I keep reading on various posts that when we introduce thyroid hormone (via which ever med) that it does not supplement but switches off our own thyroid hormone production and I am wondering

Hi all I have just had a comprehensive blood test done which included Thyroid. Having put my results in the thyroid calculator i wonder if anybody would interpret the results for me please? I’m not brilliant with maths! I can see they are not ideal, I’ve been feeling rubbish for months. Many Thanks

Does magnesium threonate have a negative effect on your thyroid medication? Are there any other supplements that affect thyroid meds. Thanks in advance.

Itchiness?
This feels a bit random to ask here as I'm not even sure that it's thyroid-related necessarily - but does anyone else get really (sometimes borderline unbearably) itchy all over - especially at night? And, does anyone have any ideas about why might this be happening, or suggestions for how to alleviate

overactive thyroid on top of GCA and PMR.
Hello, just diagnosed overactive thyroid. I am on one mg prednisone daily for GCA and PMR autoimmune conditions. Resting heart rate 116 and losing weight quickly. Not overweight. Waiting for an endocrinologist. I have mild fatty liver disease also. What medication or treatment would suit me ?

Sources of T4 and T3 and names of thyroid specialists please!
Advice please, by private message on non prescription sources for T4 and T3. Also names of supportive thyroid specialists for a private prescription. Please, respectfully, just the above info! 🥰 I do not need advice on what to do, what to test, when to take tests, test interpretation, what vitamins

Underactive thyroid and Pine pollen
Hi I have had an underactive for almost 3 years now and I take Eltroxin 75mcg mon-fri and 50mcg sat-sun but have not seen any results with weight loss. I am still fatigued and still picking up weight, almost 30kg's in 3 years which is not helpful. My blood test results come back normal so I am not sure

How thyroid hormone fuels the drive to explore
We keep seeing papers which add to the list of things that thyroid hormones affect. But I wasn't expecting this!

Thyroid disease and raised cholesterol
Hello . Have i hypothyroidism and take 125 mcg of Thyroxine daily. Many of you will be aware that there is a correlation between thyroid disease and elevated cholesterol in fact I understand that high cholesterol used to lead to thyroid disease diagnosis.So. my level is 7 which is high and my GP felt

moving to the UK
Hello all! My family and I are moving to the UK, and I wanted to get a sense of what I can expect for my hypothyroid treatment. I am currently taking both T4 (Liothyronine) and NP Thyroid (a type of porcine thyroid). Both doses are somewhat low as my thyroid is still about to manage some production

Self-help on managing Hashimoto's
Hello, I've recently been diagnosed with Hashimoto's following blood tests and then a thyroid scan due to an enlarged goitre. I'm on 50mg of Levothyroxine and I've chosen to go gluten free (I'm not celiac as I've been tested). I've got low vit D level so taking supplements and also taking magnesium
