Hello, just diagnosed overactive thyroid. I am on one mg prednisone daily for GCA and PMR autoimmune conditions. Resting heart rate 116 and losing weight quickly. Not overweight. Waiting for an endocrinologist. I have mild fatty liver disease also. What medication or treatment would suit me ?

Hi Chopin002, welcome to the forum.
I'm afraid that when it comes to thyroid, there's not a lot of choice of 'medication'. For hyperthyroidism there are two different antithyroid drugs, but no-one can tell you in advance which one will suit you best.
The most important thing is knowing why you're hyper, so were your antibodies tested?
TRAB and TSI for Graves', which is autoimmune hyperthyroidism
and
TPO antibodies and Tg antibodies for Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which tends to swing between hypothyroidism and hyper in the beginning.
So, it's vitally important to know exactly what was tested, and exactly what the results were before anyone can give you any advice. Do you have a copy of your results and ranges from diagnosis?
prednisone will lower TSH so it’s absolutely essential that you get Ft4 and Ft3 levels tested
