Jumping for joy - if I could!
I thought I would report back following my 'hip and back' question earlier this week. I had my faith renewed in doctors when I saw a locum doctor yesterday as mine was on holiday. This doctor tested my hip and back and said that it was not PMR related as the pain was only on one side. She is sending

Help Please - need to sort out Adrenal supplement and Thyroid meds!
I have been on Levo for over 21 years, (100mcg), but recently, (don't know whether the menopause has "kick started" anything, am 57), have been feeling more tired, and the "brain fog" is worse. I was diagnosed with "Fibromyalgia" in 2009, and so they say that's why I am tired. I started

Tests for Hashimoto's
Can anyone suggest a comprehensive list of tests for Hashimoto's. I guess it would include 1. Tsh 2. Ft3 3. Ft4 4. TG 5. TPO 6. Vitamin D3 7. B12 8. Ferritin Any others please? My last test was about 3-4 months ago. I've suddenly started feeling poorly again - headaches, migraine, tired. It is hot

Steroid cream alternatives
I have had eczema patches on my arms for the last 6 months and my doc prescribed me Hydrocortisone steroid cream, that has had little success. I've read that steroid creams can have side effects and aren't great for your skin so I am concerned that if I go back to the doc he will prescribe me another

Tocilizumab infusions
Hi Shaz, I didn't come on the website yesterday as I spent most of it in bed. I had another flare up where every part or joint hurt so much I had difficulty getting out of my chair or off the loo. I found it much easier to get up off the bed. I hate being in bed as I like to keep moving. I think this

Less is more when it comes to my pills
Thanks to new thinking by some medical authorities regarding statins and blood pressure meds for us old folks, I'm now taking only one prescription medication – – carbidopa levodopa. And only three over-the-counter pills – – Vitamin D-3, curcumin and 5-HTP. For details, see http://bit.ly/1HxzXZA.

Vitamin D must of missed it?
As some of you may know I have had a little bit of a nightmare getting anything done at my GP's Surgery. I ended up in A&E and from there on to Ambulatory Care were all in all, they have tried their hardest to sort out my multi-conditions. Earlier on in this saga they did a long list of different blood

Son's basal temperature is 35.2 degrees
Hi All, I accept I need to be told off as I posted 8 months ago about my 16-year-old son and although I have followed most of the very much appreciated advice but I haven't taken him to Dr BDP (affording it is the problem but I should have found the money somehow). I am just reading his book and I have

Simultaneous delivery of highly diverse bioactive compounds from blend electrospun fibers for skin wound healing
Fascinating that the researchers here even thought to use vitamin C, vitamin D3, hydrocortisone and, wait for it, T3, to produce fibres that can be used for wound healing. Starts to read as if they have been reading here on HU TUK! :-) Where else do you see that selection being discussed, albeit not

I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere 😀 After seeing the doctor for the blood test results and having to argue once again that I'm not depressed (AAAAARRRRGGHH! ) I stood my ground and insisted that I am referred to a specialist. Eventually the doctor agreed ☺ Then I had a call on Friday from

Steroid withdrawal
My 19 year old son is going through steroid withdrawal after years of using 2% steroid cream & other lotions prescribed by his well meaning doctor. My son is refusing to even use Aveeno cream now, as he is convinced his body needs a total break form using anything. His skin is raw & weeping & his bed

Reduced calories and excema flare up.
Since reducing my calories my excema has flared up. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm sticking to roughly 1400 calories per day and that has been the only change in my lifestyle. Doctor doesn't know why it has flared up....he says I'm the best judge of my excema. Now on steroid cream and lots of
