Creatinine going down (1.45 to 1.35 in 10 days), but Potassium 5.5?
Hi all, Recently, during an initial blood check my Creatinine was 1.45 (GFR 64). After 10 days of keeping on top of the water (4l), reducing protein (from 180-200g to 50-70g) my Creatinine dropped to 1.35. I can see creatinine levels can depend on lifestyle, diet and physical activity. I am 25. I am

Just diagnosed - vasculitis GPA
Hi, I am so glad I've found this site as I am just at the start of my vasculitis journey and from what I read, seen and heard I will need all the help I can get. I suspect my immune system got triggered when I donated blood in August 2018 - I got really sick during the process. Nothing unusual, it happens

We are 30 years into the PSA era. I was diagnosed half-way in - 15 years ago - & no-one seemed happy with the PSA/biopsy model back then. Laurence Klotz started writing about active surveillance [AS] at about that time, & has over 100 papers on the subject. He may have invented the term, although

Iodine test
Can anyone recommend the best test for iodine level? I note that 3 months ago, Humanbean suggested a (non-loading) urine test from Genova which costs £71 https://www.gdx.net/uk/product/urine-iodine. However, 2 months ago, another forum member stated that a naturopath had suggested a urine iodine test

Hi All, I went to see the doctor on Tuesday (12/3/19) for a medication review as i am currently on mefenemic acid and amytriptyline (was 10mg, after a trip to A&E i increased this to 20mg which i made the doctor aware of). I spoke about numbness at times in my right leg and pains in the front and back

Update and Resource: Heart Calm supplement
Heart Calm has low doses of magnesium, potassium, CoQ10, and
taurine
. (Note that the potassium dose is only 2% of the recommended amount; a banana has loads more than the daily dose of Heart Calm.)

Wanted: Medical sources on under-medicated hypothyroidism and pregnancy. Thank you.
UPDATE I have just learnt my results from 25 February were TSH 0.84 FT4 10.1 FT3 3.0 The Consultant provided no reference ranges, has no problem with my results and no intention of seeing me again. Given the usual reference ranges I have seen with prior tests, I am devastated. If

Recently Diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis
Hi All, Unfortunately my father is diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis 3 weeks back. He is diabetic since last 17 years. He never really had alcohol. Recently during our small family vacation, his legs had swelling - which often appeared during travelling due to legs hanging but disappeared after a night

Blood in stool & Lower back pain
I do drink pre workout that consist of Beta-alanine, betaine anhydrous,
taurine
, potassium nitrate, N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine, Caffeine Anhydrous, Juglans Regia (Root Extract). When I exercise I tend to avoid exercises that put strain on my bowl like stomach and lower back exercises.

"Heart Calm" supplement
I've decided to begin with making sure I have enough magnesium, potassium and
taurine
, which I've read are important to heart health. I do drink the Calm magnesium supplement, but have wondered if I'm actually absorbing enough of it.
