Cheapie tests not getting darker

Hi all. I did IVF and my test day was Friday. After two very strong lines on clear blue and frer on Fri and sat, on sat, sun and this morning I used those little internet cheapies and all three have been quite faint, and not getting darker. So that is worrying me. Even though the cheapie was faint using the same urine sample as the frer (which was strong) ... It's the lack of progression/darkening that is worrying me. Anyone able to reassure me?

I know it is easier said then done but try not to read to much into the pregnancy tests once you have got positive. I was obsessed like you and have lost 3 babies before this pregnancy I was testing almost every day for weeks. There were times when the line was much lighter then the other and it just freak me out. I am now 17 weeks so those light lines meant noting. I would say unless you are suffering strong cramps and bleeding then everything looks positive so try not to worry to much. If you don’t ivf you should have your scan soon and this should give you more assurance. Good luck

Thank you. Sorry for your losses and congrats on your current pregnancy. That makes me feel better that some days the lines can be lighter without it meaning anything.

Darkening tests is not a reliable way to judge that your pregnancy hormone is increasing. Step away from the tests (I know it’s really really hard). As others have said, unless you are having strong cramps and bleeding then you have to try to believe you are pregnant! Congratulations! It gets easier to believe once you see that first scan x

Thank you! I am 5 weeks today and morning sickness just started... So I reckon I can just rely on that to reassure me now anyway haha.

I had morning sickness from the day I turned five weeks too. And am now sitting here with my four month old asleep on me. Xxx

Morning sickness is great reassurance. I have been sick constantly for the first 13 weeks and as much as I wanted to feel better I was also so happy as every second I felt unwell I knew that that means the baby is fine. So enjoy the sickness as wrong as this sounds !

All tests, test at different levels, some detect very small amounts of hcg and will be darker earlier and others don’t get a positive until the levels are much higher, so would look lighter, and with a few days passing I wouldn’t worry. Call your doctors/hospital for an early scan to reassure you if you can. I had a scan at 5weeks could only see a gestational sac but I knew something was there.

It could simply be the dye on the test... the same happened to me and my baby made it to me healthy.. I read somewhere after being nervous like you that sometimes some tests dye just are not strong
