MF transplant update - discharged from BMT unit and back home
He was whipped into isolation and I was but on a course of
tamiflu
just in case. During my stay I developed a lower respiratory tract infection and also had a small stroke. The infection was a nuisance as I was continually coughing up muck and also dealing with a running nose.

9 months post kidney transplant...side effects are changing
I had symptoms and tested negative but they put me on
Tamiflu
anyway. Every since then I feel like I have felt every single side effect you can feel. My doctor wants to wait until I'm at least a year out before changing to other meds related to prograf. Anyone with experience with this?

Thanks to
Tamiflu
I avoided some of the misery. However, my 3 month CLL check at Mayo came back with a dropped neutrophil count as well as a dropped hemoglobin count from last time - all from the flu apparently - my numbers were better last time.

Tamiflu - WORKING!!!!! :) :)
I took
Tamiflu
for 5 days to kick the flu and exactly a week later my count went from 36,000 to 280,000. I didn't take my nplate shot this week to see what would happen. Apparently it last longer than a week. I'll know more by next Monday. stay TUNED!!!!!

Z Pak and Tamiflu
I was just prescribed
tamiflu
and a z pak as I have a fever of 102.8. Can these be taken together? I will follow up with Mayo tomorrow - they wanted me to get a flu swab to test for flu before getting a scrip for
Tamiflu
but no one has them in the SF Bay Area.

Tamiflu = tummy phoo
I can’t figure out whether it’s the
Tamiflu
or the z pak or having to take both and believe me I’m grateful for both given how sick I was - BUT it’s destroying my stomach. I still have 5 days left to take - any suggestions to settle things down?

Tamiflu while taking chemo?
Is there anyone taking
tamiflu
to prevent the flu while on chemo? It seems as if cancer patients should consider this?

Flu Outbreak
Just out of interest- with many folk being exposed to and catching the flu is it advisable if you contract the flu to contact your GP and ask for
tamiflu
? Don't know anything about this or if you're on steroids if you can take it or whether it will be given.

Decline, flu, recovery, decline?
The gave him an intravenous bag of fluids,
tamiflu
and sent us home. He seemed to understand what was wrong, looked right at me and was bright eyes and aware. He answered a simple question with yes or no. He was aware that he was feeling miserable due to a bad flu and he would soon recover.

[i]"One of the biggest recent controversies in medicine involves the effectiveness – or otherwise – of the antiviral drug
