Is there anyone taking tamiflu to prevent the flu while on chemo? It seems as if cancer patients should consider this?

Tamiflu while taking chemo?
I had a flu shot before chemo.
From what I could find having a flu shot is OK, but there could be side effects with some types of chemo. I could not find more than that.

My MO encouraged flu shot while in middle of my chemo rounds. I just checked blood counts first.
Check with your oncologist but in most cases getting the flu shot is a good idea. Tamiflu is a treatment once you have flu symptoms.
my husband's oncologist prescribed Tamiflu to both of us to take to Roatan during the big Swine Flu epidemic 6 or 7 years ago. Fortunately, we didn't need it, but he felt it was better to take it with us instead of needing it in the third world and not having it. he didn't think it was, in any way, contraindicated with Zytiga and Lupron which he was taking at the time for his gleason 10 prostate cancer.
what he wouldn't allow, was the Shingles vaccine, and unfortunately, he had one of the worst scarring cases of shingles anyone had ever seen.
Is your husband still on zytiga? Wondering how long men usually stay on that drug. Thank you for info.
My medical oncologist wants me to be on Zytiga (with prednisone) for two years. However she wants me to be on Lupron for the rest of my life.
I had the flu last year in February and was given Tami-flu at the hospital and for 2 weeks ay home. I had no problems. I am on Eligard injections form 7 years now.
My MO declined me having a flu shot while on chemo due to white count being low and leaving me susceptible to getting the flu from the shot....so I am just avoiding being out around people for the next few months.
