BrCA Positive and New to This...
Hi there. I've recently been diagnosed with the BrCA gene (for those who are unsure, Angeline Jolie had this. In a nutshell, I will most likely have cancer in my lifetime occurring in my breasts/ovaries, and so measures such as mastectomy and oophorectomy are very common). IVF has been recommended to

Surgery is behind me
Hi all! I had a cystectomy and prostatectomy (along with assorted other bits a parts), last Tuesday. Surgery took over 10 hours and was all done robotically. I came home yesterday and am learning to live with a "bag". I'm tired and weak, but feel amazingly well--little to no pain or other discomfort

Negative breast cancer
I read a lot of the blogs on here. My condition was very different. I had lung cancer in my right breast! Very few cases all over the world (30 in all?). It was small cell. I was diagnosed in June 2015 just after having a hysterectomy in the May! First I was told a mastectomy and then the oncologist

End of treatment
After being diagnosed in Nov 2015, I've been through chemo for 6 months, a mastectomy with a free tram reconstruction, delayed healing, 25 sessions of radiotherapy and now I have just two more sessions left. It'll all end on Tuesday next. I'll be on tamoxifin for 5 years, though. Somehow I'm unable to

Ready for Surgery, Need Advice
I was disagnosed with stage 2, muscle invasive bladder cancer, N-0, M-0 in April. Two MRIs showed no cancer outside the bladder. After 6 sessions of chemotherapy, my oncologist has determined it is time to remove the bladder (along with prostate and lymph nodes). Since I'm age 70, he's concerned about

Bowel / toilet problems
A proportion of people who have had treatment for cancer suffer difficulties with sudden loss of control over bowel movements, and indeed some suffer from chronic diarrhoea issues. Chemotherapy
Hello everyone. My partner had a mastectomy early last June. She's due to start chemo next weeks as a "preventive" measure (stage 3). I was wondering if the 6 week wait was too long?
