memory loss prostap hell
my life is a living hell at the min I have been on prostap injections now for 2 1/2 years. I was meant to be having a hysterectomy but because I have a complex medical history. They keep finding excuses not to do the surgery such as can’t have general anaesthetic because of XY and Z and I can’t

Mixing plain and gastro Pred
I have just requested 2.5mg Prednisolone from my surgery as I am down to 4.5mg and it’s much easier to get a correct dose without splitting pills. I see that they will be giving me gastro resistant tabs so I will be taking 1 of these together with 2x1mg plain Prednisolone. Is this going to create

My doctors have just done B12 and folic acid blood tests, I was diagnosed in 2002 with pernicious anaemia. I have just been told that both results are high and that a doctor may want to speak to me. There is rumours that the surgery are trying to cut back on prescription and I am worried they will stop

TSH rising inexplicably
Hi, I haven’t posted for years because things had been as stable as they could be for someone with ME, but in the last year my TSH has gone from suppressed on T3 only therapy to high ‘normal’ to just over ‘normal’ to my latest blood of TSH 7.86. Sorry this is a long post I am a complicated case.

Total Hip Replacement Decision
Hello Friends, I have ET-MPL 515L, and this is year 10 with the disease, and I am doing well thanks to Pegasys. I have been informed, due to arthritis, I need a total hip replacement. Those of us with MPN's are at increased risk of vertebrae and hip fractures, YIKES! In discussions with my Oncologist

Pacemaker surgery
Hello everyone I am likely to be having a pacemaker fitting soon and the idea of the surgery is really freaking me out. I think it's because it's done under local anaesthetic and so I'll see them doing it. For people that have had the surgery, how was it and how did you feel afterwards? I've had two

incorrect dose of prednisolone?
Just less than a month ago, I reduced my first prednisolone dose from 15mg to 12.5mg. This was after a blood test. I wasn’t keen to reduce by more than ten percent, especially as I was going to be travelling a long way and be away for Xmas and new year, then home for two days and away again for eight

Ropinirole vs Buprenorphine!
I had a phone call from 1 Dr. who told me that Ropinirole would cure my RLS and was annoyed that I wouldn't take them. He decided to get the head of the Surgery to phone me to try to put pressure on me ! I did say that the 10 mcg had helped me a little bit but I would like a stronger patch . A few day's

Has anyone else struggled after catheter?
I had my endo and fibroids excised on Saturday. I'm hoping it's enough otherwise I'll be back for a hysterectomy to get rid of the adeno too. I found out the day before surgery I would be catheterised. This was fine until the catherer was removed a day later, when I really struggled to empty my bladder

Pregnancy and Endometriosis
Just reaching out to other ladies going through FETs with Endometriosis before lap surgery. does anyone have any positive stories? If IVF doesn’t work out this year was going to look into Lap surgery. I am on the waiting list to see a gynaecologist, but the waiting list is a year ! In my area.

Violent shaking
Hi, everybody. I was diagnosed November 2019 and have tapered to 3mgs a day. I was woken at 3.30 this morning by the badger eating the food we put out for it in the garden. The tin it's under makes a noise. I started to feel a bit strange with the familiar shoulder aches, but then gradually started

Hello everyone. I’m a 55 year old male who has had knee problems for the majority of my life. I think it originated from sports injuries as a schoolboy but I remember twisting it while at work when I was about 17 too. I have a long history of having treatment for knee problems including 2 or 3 arthroscopy
