Negative results for urine cultures
Hi I have CKD stage 3 and I keep having problems with it uti symptoms. I get prescribed antibiotics as the test strips show I have an infection and then the antibiotics don’t work. Every time they send the urine test off it comes back negative but I’m still left with the symptoms. When I ask the doctor

Purchasing B12 for injection. Oxford Biosciences.
Does anyone know if Oxford Biosciences B12 is regulated for purity and sterility in the U.K.? They sell methylcobalamin in a glass vial for reconstitution with normal saline and then injection. Are they "flying under the radar" when it comes to pharmaceutical regulation? Listed as "pharmaceutical grade

Injectafer iron infusion - side effects / complications?
I was just wondering for those of you who have had an Injectafer iron infusion, did you have any complications or side effects? I finally managed to get one (1000 mg in a saline solution) in Sydney on Thursday (five days ago). I've had flu like symptoms, elevated temperature, aches and pains, a rash

Has anyone had problems with their child’s medicine not showing up in urine test?
Long post but I’m confused and am just trying to see if this has happened to anyone else too! My 8 year old has been taking Focalin XR since Kindergarten and until this last month we have never had a problem with it showing up on his urine tests. He is now on a 20mg dose and I give it to him every day

Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer.
New study below [1]. 15 years ago, with the immediate failure of my prostatectomy, Lupron was offerred as an option. Having read a large number of papers where ADT mostly failed within 18-24 months, & being only 56 at the time, I was puzzled why anyone would rush into a short-lasting palliative therapy

Low normal cortisol
Can anyone please advise on low cortisol. I've uploaded cortisol test result from a 24hr urine test done at the hospital. Over the previous 4 years I've lost scalp eyebrow hair. I believe this the reason why. The NHS will never treat me and I will have to continue to watch my hair fall out. Although

9dp5dt faint positive, worse than recieving a BFN or BFP. More limbo...
Went to the clinic for our official test this afternoon. Gave them a urine sample from this morning. She said we have a faint positive, which could mean a slow starter, could mean it's something that's not working out or could be ectopic. They've asked us to go back on Monday to retest. If I start bleeding

Just diagnosed - vasculitis GPA
Hi, I am so glad I've found this site as I am just at the start of my vasculitis journey and from what I read, seen and heard I will need all the help I can get. I suspect my immune system got triggered when I donated blood in August 2018 - I got really sick during the process. Nothing unusual, it happens

Hi, newbie here!
Hi everyone, I'm 31 and I just found out I have stage 4 CKD, egfr 29. It came as a bit of a shock! I had reduced kidney function a few years ago after getting vasculitis but last I knew it was back to normal and I never really worried about it. I wish now I'd paid more attention to what they considered

Reverse T3 interacts with αvβ3 integrin receptor and restores enzyme activities in the hippocampus of hypothyroid developing rats
Possibly time finally to stop regarding reverse T3 (rT3) as an inactive substance?
evidence that rT3 is an active TH metabolite
Of course, every paper is subject to review, criticism of methods and logic, and the results being replicated. [i]Mol Cell Endocrinol. 2018 Jul 15;470:281

Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia?
It seems like I’m always chasing An Answer haha I have recently been in hospital with sputum showing P. aeruginosa and S. aureus. Sputum sample #2 went missing, and I couldn’t produce a 3rd sample but my inflammatory markers — which I assume were raised when I was admitted — came down. I have only been

My Nasal Polyp story
Hi, I'd like to tell you my experience with nasal polyp's. I stupidly suffered with them for 5 years. Should have had them removed straight away but I didn't. Anyway after the 1st year with them, they came out by themselves over a period of 2 or 3 days. I was so relieved and happy and thought....that's

Everyone Please Try Taurine.
I have had RLS for 5 years now and at it's worst I was getting spasms that locked both legs sticking straight out from my chair and vibrating. One day last year I had one of my lateral thinking epiphanies and wondered if the Taurine that is added to Energy drinks to prevent the coffee jitters might

Miscroscopic blood in urine tests
Hello. Its been 8 years since my transplant . Recently, my nephrologist has pointed out to me last September that there has been constant traces of blood in the urine. He wanted me to get a CT scan but I was too afraid to go then until I realized that there has been blood for the past two years. No
