Miscroscopic blood in urine tests

Hello. Its been 8 years since my transplant . Recently, my nephrologist has pointed out to me last September that there has been constant traces of blood in the urine. He wanted me to get a CT scan but I was too afraid to go then until I realized that there has been blood for the past two years. No one has ever mentioned it before.. Had anyone experienced something like this?? I will ask to go see an Urologist tomorrow or go to ER if anything.

I have am on my third transplant, Never wait or be afraid to find out what's going on with your transplant. This could be treatable but how will you know if you don't have the CT scan. Hope all works out for you.

Thank you for your advice! I always seem to link everything with cancer which scares the wits out of me .. its really unhealthy. I have made an appt to my GP for next Tuesday!

Never be afraid to do something a doctor suggests, especially when it could help your transplant. When caught early so many things can be reversed. Hematuria can have many causes. Mine was caused by a blockage that was easily fixed with a stent. That was 10 years ago, and I am now 19 years post transplant.

Get it done now, don't put it off! Fear is not worth the loss of your kidney!

Thank you. I feel better hearing your experience! I just wonder why they never mentioned or probed further two years ago.. Im trying to set up appts and tests asap. :)

I have had traces of blood in my urine for years. I don't know if it matters being diabetic. My nephrologist keeps checking it as it is steady, I'm 7 yrs post transplant. GOOD LUCK!

Quick update: I had the ct scan today and received the results on the same day. Everything is looking normal! Nothing found on the scan.

I have also had blood in my urine for many years. I had my transplant 30 yrs ago. Nothing was done about the blood in the urine until I saw it in the toilet bowl. Had to go for a CT scan. Came back that the wall was thickening toward the top. So today I went for a cystoscopy. Everything was normal. No answers to why I had blood in the urine. I am not going to worry about it anymore. Hope your test results were as good as mine.
