Solgar gentle iron dosing
Hi, I have been taking 20mg solgar for the last few months one per day. I thought that I would have seen more than a slight improvement by now but just wondering if I need to up my dose. Any ideas? Thanks

Low Ferritin in 14 year old son
Hi Is it okay to give my 14 year old son Solgar Gentle Iron 25mg? He's on Spatone right now but I know that won't be doing much. He was at the very lowest point on the range for his ferritin. Doctor said it didn't matter! Thanks very much

Ferritin or liver supplements? Anyone tried them?
Hi I am struggling to get my ferritin levels up. I have been taking solgar gentle iron for over a year off and on due to stomach issues. I have finally had to give up on these due some very unpleasant gut issues that I won't go into. I can't stomach the taste of liver - tried that, continue do it

Iron supplement advice
Hi all, I have low ferritin which I have supplemented using a sachet of spatone a day and brought up from 13 to 26 with the range of 23-300. It is the only vitamin/mineral that's crucial for thyroid function that I'm low in and as I'm still having issues I'd like to try to raise it higher. However, I

Anyone increased ferritin from eating pate?
Have been trying to get my ferritin levels up for about a year using solgar gentle iron. Was ok at first but have had a few episodes of gastritis type symptoms and had to stop a few times most recently a couple of weeks ago. Thought I would try liver once a week instead but cover it up in a chilli and

Low Ferritin
In April of this year my ferritin reading was 45 and am experiencing hair loss. Started taking solgar gentle iron everyday since April and my ferritin reading is now 5! I was aiming to raise to at least 80 for hair regrowth not for it to go lower! Does anyone have an idea why after taking iron everyday

Fatigue. Thyroid, Fibromyalgia and Anaemia
Hi everyone. I was found to be anaemic about 18 months ago, when a pre op blood test was done. I couldn't tolerate prescription iron, and started taking Spatone. Slowly my results went up to about 25, but have now dropped to 13. After reading various outcomes on this forum, I have changed to Solgar gentle

Advice on how to increase ferritin please
My ferritin is bottom of the range, and I am very concerned. What form of iron supplementation works best? I have been taking Solgar 'gentle iron', ( with vit c) - although not regularly, but I have now had new blood results and realise I need to up the supplementation. Thank you

Symptoms, symptoms, symptoms
Not been around for a bit, trying to get my NDT up to a reasonable amount slowly. I'm taking 2 grains Thyroid S once a day, before food, away from supplements, etc. I'm also taking 5000 iu B12 sublingual, 25mg Solgar Gentle Iron, selenium, 0.5g D3. The problem is, I've had some really bad migraines

Can anyone comment on Solgar Gentle Iron? Ferrous bisglycinate vs ferrous fumarate...
My ferritin was 19 (11-336) so I'd like to make a start so I bought what I found in my local health food shop. Generally I like Solgar products because they don't have a lot of junk in them, but I don't know how much to take of this iron. It is ferrous bisglycinate and not ferrous fumarate. Any thoughts
