Flomax dosage 2x a day?

Anyone out there taking Flomax twice a day and if so, are you taking two doses at one time or spacing them out?

If you are taking two was this on advice or consult with your doctor? My PA is suggesting I take 2 doses as I am getting up 8-9 times at night, of course the radiation therapy is probably the main reason at the moment. I see alot of info that states not to take 2 doses concurrently which is what I was told.

Not sure Flomax is really working for me with one dose. Possibly the radiation is really putting the cabash to what this drug can do.

Appreciate the feedback!

My RO told me to take both together at night - what is your source of contrary info?

I found that 1 Rapaflo worked better than 2 Flomax. Everyone's different. Important to get up slowly from bed or sitting in the first week so you don't faint.

I started the Flomax during the radiation to get rid of the peeing glass sensation, for me taking it morning and night works best.

My RO said don't take more than twice a day but if morning and evening works then that's fine...

Personally, I'd like to get back to one a day but every time I cut back the peeing glass comes back...

During my RT I upped my Flomax dosage from one capsule (.4) to two (.8) taken once/day. It helped. After RT I went back to the one capsule.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

FLOMAX capsules 0.4 mg once daily is recommended as the dose for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of BPH. It should be administered approximately one-half hour following the same meal each day. FLOMAX capsules should not be crushed, chewed or opened.

For those patients who fail to respond to the 0.4 mg dose after 2 to 4 weeks of dosing, the dose of FLOMAX capsules can be increased to 0.8 mg once daily. FLOMAX capsules 0.4 mg should not be used in combination with strong inhibitors of CYP3A4 (e.g., ketoconazole) [see WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS].

If FLOMAX capsules administration is discontinued or interrupted for several days at either the 0.4 mg or 0.8 mg dose, therapy should be started again with the 0.4 mg once-daily dose.

Thanks all. My MO said two capsules at night, but I had heard of others who were taking it 12 hours apart just curious if there were some taking it that way and if there was a benefit or not.

I take 12 hours apart, around 1 am then 1 pm the next day, I have that it starts to have an effect of about if an 2 hour peeing every 30 minutes or so then slacks off. Also depends on how much water you drink, I go through 2 to 3 16 oz bottled water a day.

You have options. Take both together one time. Take only one a day. Or take one in am and one in pm. For me, 6 and 6...... my RO, said my choice. I found that twice a day works best for me..... oh, BTW, I have been taking since April 2003.........

Flomax, over time, caused me to have bradycardia. I switched to Solifenacin which worked well but gave me severe constipation. Uro doc now has me on Myrbetriq which works very well. A pricey new drug but quite effective for me,
