Have I developed "doctor phobia" or what...?!
TBH, it feels like I've done something wrong or immoral or even illegal by going outside the national health care system and opting for alternative treatment prescribed by a practitioner who believes that hormonal imbalances are to blame for many of the conditions mainstream doctors treat with

My hubby had a suspected TIA 4 years ago and was put on Clopidogrel 75mg and Simvastatin 40mg.Since then he has lost almost 4 stones and has been vegan for 2 years. What I would like to ask is,will he be on these drugs forever? His cholesterol is low,and BP normal

To take or not to take
Had no checks from Dr.s just given repeat prescriptions and saw Pharmacist who told me it's ok to take
Statins
every other day? As I've been off
Statins
a while now should I just take up where I left off? It takes weeks to get a Dr.s appointment at my GP surgery !!

Coming off statins
A few days ago I was reading a posting from a guy who was going to, or had stopped taking his
statins
because of leg pain and I can't find this posting. Perhaps he could remind me who he is, or PM me?

Normal BP
And no, I’m not going to become vegan, stick to an insect diet or use my
statins
as a burnt offering to the great god Dr Google!

LCHF: what to expect
This may cause your doctor a fit of apoplexy, and he will feverishly write out a prescription for
statins
. I strongly recommend that you don't go down this route.

Update on Cardiac scan results, need a little advice
I was on 80mg
Statins
aspirin(75mg) Rampril/Bisoprolol(both 1:25mg)when I was discharge, now in that time I was taken off all
statins
due to a deranged Liver. Then Bisoprol/rampril due to side effects and low blood pressure. Finally Aspirin.

Advice please
Feeling nervous about the interactions of all the drugs, especially as info on
Statins
says muscle ache and inflammation of pancreas and liver as possible side effects, will taking
Statins
cause my PMR to flare?

statins recommended
Current Dr insisting i go on
Statins
,but very reluctant because previously i had bad experience with mood swings, muscle problems etc on various
Statins
. Just had Blood pressure test for a week with an Average of 122over78. Not much wrong with that, through eating and exercising sensibly.

Advice Please and thanks!
I did get my cholesterol done which after going gluten and dairy free has gone down a little which is great as they wanted me on
statins
which I think I def would have refused. I am 49 and I am not sure if my symptoms would be from my thyroid or maybe menopause which he won’t test for either.

CLL and Statins
Here is the question, has anyone experienced a quick or sudden change in their blood counts since taking Atorvastatin? Hi All, I am reasonably new to this forum but was diagnosed with CLL in 2009. On W&W until 2017 when I had one cycle of FCR, after a bad reaction in intensive care with neutropenic sepsis

I’m a new member who have recently been diagnosed with stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease ( CKD ) and besides prescribing
Statins
for my High Cholesterol (which is 5.5) my doctor will not offer any further help at this time.

Been to see my consultant and he suggests I take

Atorvastatin - when to take?
I've seen information (including on my prescription) that says Atorvastatin should be taken at night like some other
statins
- apparently as this will be effective targeting increased production of cholesterol by the body at night.
