STATINS AND ITCHY SKIN
Hi all. On 20mg atorvastatin. Been on them for 12 months now. Mentioned in my last post about hair loss... Now I'm noticing I'm itching all over??? My body and scalp. Do you think this could be related? Now I've also been prescribed 30mg isosorbide mononitrate about 2 months ago, and it's just

on 50mg levothyroxine since September 2006 (started on 25mg in the March 2006) I have never had anything else tested only TSH with my GP, currently TSH is at 3.4 which I am told is in the range (but near the top of the range) I also have a total cholesterol reading of 5.9, which I am now taking

Newly diagnosed and seeking help
My cholesterol had also gone from normal to very high prompting prescription for
statins
. Other blood test results were normal except TSH which was 11.61. GP was reluctant to prescribe Levothyroxine but relented due to my symptoms, prescribing 25 mg/day.

Why take statins when my angiogram came out clear?
My GP now wants me to take
statins
. I want to really concentrate on lowering my bad cholesterol naturally. I understand that
statins
can, among other things, affect your liver! If I already have some sort of liver issue but my arteries are "pristine", why should I take
statins
?

How fast do statins work?
Hello, I was wondering how quickly do
statins
start to work - lower cholesterol? Is 1 week after starting it, long enough for a blood test to show if it works? Thank you

COC Protocol
I am interested in hearing experiences and results with the four drugs prescribed by Care Oncology : Metformin,
statins
, Menbendazole and Doxycycline. I believe Jane Mclelland who wrote the book "How to Starve Cancer". may have used this type of drug cocktail with great success.

Can hyperlipidemia cause Hughes Syndrome?
I have assumed that it has been the
statins
and fibrates that have "unstuck" my blood all this time. Could extreme combined familial hyperlipidemia alone cause "sticky blood" or should I ask for a Hughes Syndrome blood test.

STATINS AND HAIR THINNING
Hello. My question is this.... I have been on Atorvastatin 20mg for a year now. Have no muscle problems whatsoever but have noticed that my hair has got really thin and is coming out. I have changed my diet for the better and take vitamins so I do not think at all it's anything to do with what I eat

Anyone out there feel they are getting worse not better after heart attack and angioplasty ?
I am allergic to ramapril and all
statins
. My bp is getting worse my sugar seems out of control and now with the chest pain I am having panic attacks. Many of you replied saying how they themselves were full of fear but improved. How gradually things got brighter and you could do more.

High LDL, genetic?
I'm not on
statins
for which I won't go into right now. It has been suggested that my LDL could be genetic and that it could be impossible to control through lifestyle changes alone.

PART 1 : Reversing Memory Deficits And Senior Moments In A 78 Year Old
She has been able to get off of Metformin for her diabetes, off of Lisinopril for her high blood pressure and she was able to avoid
statins
which her doctor wanted to put her on. Yes, she is quite happy now and said she can clearly see the improvement in her memory!
