Hi Ladies sending you all the very best wishes and hope you are all keeping positive and well. I've had my results from 18 weeks of weekly Taxol today, I've had a partial response, some spots have reduced, some have stayed the same and some have increased slightly, I am now going to start tablet form

POST STROKE AF
I am new to this site and find it very informative and reassuring I started getting a rapid heartbeat about 5/6 years ago. This began when my mother was diagnosed with cancer. Eventually I was referred to a cardiologist. An ECG revealed nothing. I then had a 24hour/7 day monitor. This revealed paroxysmal

Burning rash on chest
Hi Ladies, I've just had my first chemo after my op and have a burning rash on my chest. I had it after my last chemo and they treated it with antihistamine tablets but that didn't work. I've only had my carbo this time as I couldn't have taxol due to a liver problem. Just wondered if any of you have

Sotalol - resting heart rate rising over time normal?
Hi all, I was prescribed Sotalol in May, after I was diagnosed with AF It made me feel quite tired to start off with (first 4 weeks) but now (July), I am feeling more 'back to normal'. I wear a Fitbit type monitor, that monitors my heart rate. What I have noticed is that initially when I started taking

Part of a New Research Study
I had my third ablation on 6th July and a few days before I was asked if I would be part of a new research study for an oesophageal-pacing catheter. A wire is passed via the nose to the oesophagus and positioned behind the left atrium. They then see if they can pace the heart (speed the rate up) with

Ifosfamide
Hi lovely ladies, Following 6 cycles of Taxol and Carboplatin and debulking, I am due to start another round of chemo, this time Carboplatin and Ifosfamide to hopefully kill off any remaining microscopic cells after a viable MMMT was removed. If anyone has has this chemo combination, I would so appreciate

My friend having breast cancer chemotherapy was offered a cold cap to protect her hair but I have ovarian cancer and didn't get that option.
Hair loss only occurs with some but not all anti-cancer drugs. The one that often causes hair loss with gynaecological cancer is called Taxol. It's also used to treat breast cancer but it is given in a different way. In breast cancer, it is often given over an hour. When used to treat ovarian cancer,

Could have taxol after op
Hi Ladies, Went yesterday for my First chemo after op just less than 3 weeks since hysterectomy. Had to have repeat bloods done as the liver function wasn't up to scratch. Anyway the oncologist deceided to let me have carbo but not taxol, and has requested a ultrasound scan this week and a appointment

Has anyone had adverse side effects from weekly Taxol? I had my sixth last Tuesday and apart from the following day, I've been laid up in bed since. Frustratingly I had to cancel an important meeting in Edinburgh on Friday and lost the £120 train fare as well as a day's consultancy fee which I just can't

Reoccurrence bombshell
Hi ladies, Need some advice and help please. Last year my wonderful mum was diagnosed with stage 3c OV. She had major surgery which included removal of omentum, bowel resection and a total hysterectomy. No visible signs of cancer post op so she had a mopping up cycle of chemo - just carbo as she was

Steroids & Positive Weight Gain
To anyone who is struggling with their appetite or weight gain, steroids have helped my my mum so much. My mum is 18 months into her diagnosis and on 3rd line treatment and it has only been this line of treatment they have suggested steroids, I wish they suggested them sooner or I had asked for them

Good morning, ladies. I have a question that I hope some of you may be able to answer or some advice given through your experience. It's been awhile since I posted. I'll just give a little background before I ask the question. I have ovarian cancer stage 4. I have already been "debulked". I have chosen

Onc
Hi all, I had my appointment with my Onc post debunking surgery yesterday and came out with a big smile on my face. I start back on Carbo / Taxol next week, she is going to change my plan from 3-4, to ensure that we get any microscopic little buggers lurking around, but my response to chemo and surgery

Side effects of flecinate, propafenone, amiodarone and sotalol
Hi everyone, I am on 150 mg of flecinate for sinus ventricular tachicardia, it gives me intense dreams, so want to try something else, like propfenone,or amiodarone or another drug that works better. I also wake up twice a night with tachicardia, I do not now if it is from the intense dreams or my heart
