Can’t Seem to Tolerate Any Drugs!
Hi again, Just an update & a question. I started Sotalol on Sunday and after having chest pain, shortness of breath & a pulse of 42 for the past 2 nights, I called my GP this morning who sent me to A&E. Had ECG, X-ray & bloods. They eventually let me home after stopping the Sotalol, and giving me

Anyone else have this happen?
Hi. I have clear cell ovarian cancer, the fun one. I have had the hysterectomy, oopherotomy whatever...in other words, there is nothing left there. I completed the standard carboplatin, taxol and avastin. I am on maintenance Avastin. My latest bloodwork shows CA125 increasing and gyno-oncologist

Another update - any thought gratefully received as always.
Hi again. I can’t thank you all enough for how much you’ve helped me in the past couple of months with this condition. It is so very much appreciated. Another update - I had a horrible episode at the weekend (148 HR for about 2 hrs - couldn’t stand up with dizziness) so spoke again to GP who asked

Short bursts of af?
Hi. I am now almost three months post ablation and over the past month have had occasional days when I get short flutters as if I am going into af but then nothing happens. Each episode only lasts a few seconds. It usually goes on for an hour two. Before ablation I only had af rarely and alway started

It's back
Well I finally got a telephone consultation with my oncologist yesterday, and as I suspected the cancer is back. Several lymph nodes in the pelvis and some stranding in the bowl. As I have no symptoms at present we agreed to leave until my scheduled appointment in June before jumping into treatment.

Genomic testing for the right drug for your type of cancer cell.
Hi Ladies, I hope everyone is staying safe and at home. I did the Genomic testing and thought the drug they put me on would be a miracle, well not true. After being on Gemzar every three weeks on one off. My oncologist said it was not working. My markers went from around 780 to 3,800 So I am not lucky

Preventing/treating neuropathy from Abraxane or Taxol?
I've had six Abraxane treatments since February. I'm thrilled that it's dropping my cancer marker, but I think I'm starting to have a bit of neuropathy...either that or someone is sneaking into my bedroom in the middle of the night and putting pins in the pad of my big toes. I take L-Glutamine for

Latest News - what a difference a day makes
Dear All, Went to have my stomach drain fitted today and they drained nearly 4 litres - feel has if I have given birth to my son again and to top it all my oncologist rang me to say that on my third round of weekly Taxol the CA125 has gone from 3000 to 900. I know that I shouldn't get too excited but

Just to finally give you and idea of what is going on
First of all a big thank you to Lindaura for her lovely personal message. A big hug Laura. Sorry for not replying soon, but have and continue to have a tough time. Dear All of You, I am in hospital yet again, not been doing at all well. Lots of problems with vomiting, diarrhoea, breathing, pain and so

Hair, will it regrow or won't it
For me, it has been 15 months since last taxol round. I'm up to round 29 in a few days for Herceptin and Perjeta. My hair has come back in, but very thin, (use to be very thick and curly/wavy) and as if there are fewer follicles in play. Is this my lot now, or will it get better over time? I know

Covid 19 letters and first time user of anastrazole.
Hi, I received a txt first 9 days ago, then a letter on the 26th march. I have been on taxol weekly chemo for over a yr now. Got a stable scan 3 weeks ago. So they have now stopped chemo and put me on anastrazole for a month because of corona virus. Not been told what happens after that or when next

Coronavirus and AF medicines could interact
There has been quite a bit of publicity about potential CV meds. The most promising is an anti-malarial drug, hydroxychloroquinone (chloroquine), particularly in combination with azithromycin (an antibiotic). However these drugs have a risk of Torsades de Pointes (TdP). Each of these drugs alone can

Good news!
Hi everyone! Just wanted to share some good news for a change. I hope it encourages others who may be needing to start on Taxol or Abraxane. I started Abraxane in February after my early January scan showed a lot more liver metastases. I also have lots of bone mets. I had been on Xeloda for 7 months
