Yes, but not for nearly 4 years now after successful (so far) cryoablation ablation.

I used it as a PIP for about 20years!

Can I help?

Sarah

I take 2 x 80 mg of Sotalol twice a day and can take as PIP when I get an attack. Have to say my attacks usually last about 36 hours before I go back into NSR but does keep my heart rate down to about 120 whereas it used to go up to 180.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I took Sotolol for several years quite successfully until it became ineffective in 2014. Then I had an ablation which seemed very successful and used Metoprolol as a backup until 2018 when I had a long AF episode and my EP put me back on Sotolol and I have been relatively free of episodes since then. My pacemaker has detected some lasting a few hours but mostly I never felt them perhaps because I was asleep. So a few nights ago, I had an episode and took it upon myself to take a 2nd evening dose of 80 mg and amazingly my episode started quieting within minutes. But then it recurred and quit sometime after bedtime.
