Impact of stopping and starting Niraparib
Hello everyone I am stage 4 ovarian cancer. 8 rounds of Carbo taxol and full debulking surgery Feb 2022. Just wondered what the impact was of interrupting Niraparib treatment. I started Niraparib 200mg in June 2022 then increased to 300mg in September. Stopped for three weeks in November due to low

What is after Taxol?
Trying to get ahead of some decisions as it seems that I am a one year treatment gal...Ibrance - 1 year, Xeloda - 1 year, now Taxol seems to be giving up on me after a year too. Doc rattled off things like Gemzar and said that there were a lot of treatments that used to be only for triple negative that

Anybody had MBC change from E + to triple negative? Anybody on Taxol?
I saw my onc this morning and got surprising news! After over 18years with MBC, and treatment with anti-hormonal meds, my cancer cells have changed to TN and the onc is recommending Taxol. I'm wondering what those infusions are like--how long is each infusion? How soon does hair begin thinning, falling

Weekly Taxol/ Avastin
Hi Everyone,I am writing on behalf of my mum, aged 61. She appears to be a 'wild type' HGSOC stage 4. Diagnosed Feb 2021. Surgery wasn't an option due to poor response to front line carbo/ taxol... (2nd opinion by Dr Fotopoulou). It kept the disease stable but no improvement. CA125 stayed around 400

Responding to a progressively increasing CA125
Hi all, Mum completed first line treatment for HGSOC last year (6 cycles carbo/taxol followed by optimal debulking) and was NED as of last July. She is BRIP1 positive but HRD negative and has been on Niraprib at reduced dose since last September. Since then her CA125 has progressively increased from

phase 1 clinical trials at Royal Marsden — anyone has experience?
hi all .. I’ve been offered either a phase 1 clinical trial or a phase 3 clinical trial at the Royal Marsden . The difference is that in phase 1 , a possible new drug is having its first tests but in phase 3 , the drug has been shown to work in some patients and may move to being approved. however ,

Anyone with heart scar tissue?
I have been in the Afib forum for a year and half. Thanks to what I learned in this wonderful forum, I made some lifestyle adjustmemts that kept me out of Afib. I found out I had some scar tissue after a heart MRI following a sustained ventricular tachycardia cardiac arrest in 2021, I am on beta blocker

Chemo for recurrence easier?
I'll be having carbo/taxol chemo for my first recurrence, which is the same chemo I had initially. I was wondering if those of you who have been through it found the second go-round easier, harder, or different from the first. Thanks for sharing your experience. It really helps.

Thanks to everyone
Thanks to everyone for their replies re my present woes. To avoid clogging up the list, I haven’t replied to everyone. This doesn’t mean I haven’t read or appreciated your reply. If anyone has had a bypass (or had a switch from Sotalol to Bisoprolol) I would be interested to hear what impact, if any,

Metoprolol
I have a CT angiogram tomorrow at 0830 and have been given two tablets of Metoprolol (50mg) to take 12 hrs and then 2hrs before the procedure. This is apparently to slow the heart down (to below 60bpm). I rang the hospital and told them that I already take Sotalol and my heart rate is generally slow

Permanent AF Again
Morning everyone. I have never posted to the forum before although I do try to read some of the posts. I hope this is OK to post. I have permanent AF and to be honest, it sucks. I was diagnosed back in October 2017 and had several cardioversion procedures, an internal cardioversion, cryo ablation

Anyone with experience with Trodelvy side effects and cold capping to save hair? Also how long did you take Trodelvy?
After one treatment of Enhertu I developed Intetstitial lung disease- ILD. I had high hopes for Enhertu and my oncologist says we may be able to try it again as I had Covid when I got my infusion. However my tumor markers which originally never showed anything skyrocketed so she had me start on

Sertraline and Sotalol
Apologies as I have already posted this on a previous thread, but I think other fellow AFibbers need to be aware of this. I was recently put on a low does of Sertraline (an anti depressant) as a treatment for IBS, as had the most horrendous abdominal cramps that over the counter medications barely touched

HelloI was diagnosed with peritoneal cancer stage 3c in June 2022 just before my 30th birthday. I had six cycles of chemotherapy with carboplatin only as I had allergic reaction to taxol. Im a BRCA2 positive and responded quite well to chemotherapy. My initial CA125 was around 3000 and it dropped to

Amiodarone - yes or no ?
Hi all. Just interested to hear from any forum members who have used / or are using Amiodarone to treat their afib. To help with afib it seems to be a last resort medication - I understand that it can and does cause bad side effects. However if you can tolerate these it appears to be the most effective
