I'll be having carbo/taxol chemo for my first recurrence, which is the same chemo I had initially. I was wondering if those of you who have been through it found the second go-round easier, harder, or different from the first. Thanks for sharing your experience. It really helps.

Chemo for recurrence easier?
Hello Frags4
My second line was carboplatin only, so not directly comparable but I think it’s easier because you know what to expect.
There were ups and downs just as with first line but I knew what to do and when I needed GP help etc.
I hope that helps and that others can fill you in on the chemo cocktail !
xx
I had a second round of Carbo Taxil chemo after 16 years. I am not sure if it was worse or not because I was older which is also a factor. I had 4 treatments. I was advised that even after so long the drug effects are cumulative.I did have a lot of leg pain for the first 3 days. I took medication for this. I was also advised to take Claritin which is a 24-hour allergy medication. It really seemed to help. I just received four treatments the second time with good results.
Hi, I'm just 2 wks into chemo for first recurrance. Feels different this time because I am generally very well. First chemo was straight after 2 very big surgeries and i was still in shock. Now I know my body can cope with the chemo and Im hoping i respond as well this time as last. Had first session last Monday and I am going in to work tomorrow to see how i cope. I never would have contemplated working through chemo first time around. Good luck xx
