Drs tell me it's IBS
Please help! I'm a 27 year old female and For the past few months I've been having a lot of pain in my left side directly under my pelvis bone. I came off the contraceptive implant around this time and onto the mini pill and still haven't had a period which is normal as I didn't have any on the implant

Contraceptive implant
Hi all I was wondering if anyone has any understanding on whether the contraceptive implant is OK to use with PBC? I've just read that GPs should avoid use of sex hormones for patients with PBC..... I let my nurse know about the condition when I had mine fitted and she didn't gave any concern. Confused

reducing pred after an operation
I had my second Cochlear implant two days ago. Taking painkillers so not aware of any PMR increase in pain. I did not start reducing to 10mg before the op and wondered when would people suggest I start reducing the pred again.

Endo returning - but feel at a loss.
Hi. I have experienced endo-like symptoms since I was around 12-14 (ten years ago) but over the course of the last few years it has gotten progressively worse. I spent most of last year trying to get taken seriously by doctors who had dismissed my problems as simply "bad periods". However, my pain,

Concerned (long story, warning, deatailed.)
Hi, I'm not sure who to ask about this so I guess I will try here. I am 17, almost 18 and have no insurance, so I cant go to the doctor. When I was fourteen, I became sexual active and my mother, whom I was living with at the time, put me on implanon, the birth control rod they place inside of your arm

contraception nightmare
Yesterday, I had my contraceptive implant removed due to the unbelievable side effects i'd been approaching with fast diminishing optimism for the last year and 3 months. Not good. The nurse, and I then discussed the options I had, which avoided the progesterone only approach. Since my skin or mentrual

Worried about health?
Hi i'm a 15 year old girl, and in the past i've been tested numerous times for Leukaemia, the bloods have always come back negative. For as long as I can remember i've had swollen lymphnodes, rather large ones in my neck and groin, I've had a few cases of unexplained bruising, and recently got the contraceptive

Trying to understand weight gain- implant? Lithium?
In January 2012, I started taking lithium to treat bipolar disorder, after about seven years of depression and then a year or so of depression and manic periods. The dosage started out small but eventually went up to 1000mg a day. At the same time I had a contraceptive implant put in. Since then, my

Starting the NHS plan with 5.4 stone to lose.
I have decided its time to change my lifestyle. I work odd hours as a chef and eat at all the wrong times which is a contributing factor to me being 12 stone. However, before I opted to begin using to contraceptive implant I was a dress size 6 and in no time ballooned to a dress size 16. I've got back

How do you convince doctors you may have hyperthyroidism without diverting to "oh you've got depression instead or you haven't got hyperthyroidism as your bloods are normal" So far had 2 bloods tests last year in april and early December and both says I'm normal! I'm experiencing the following, insomnia

Pelvic pain
Since the 24th July I've had 42 days when I've actually logged pain in my diary. That's a 1/4 of the days. The pain is in my lower right side (ovary I'm convinced, although numerous tests, scans, laproscopy have shown nothing). It's now forming a pattern - almost period like - although I don't have

Concerned, curious and dismissive doctors
So I've not been diagnosed with endometriosis but my auntie suffers with it and recognises some symptoms in me so have joined this site for my own research as I'm finding doctors completely dismissive. After several appointments and some tests on what believed to be bowel-related issues I flagged up
