Swollen legs and ankles
My legs and ankles have been swollen for a few months now and are getting worse. The skin is very red and shiny . They are more swollen during the day but more painful at night. I know this hot weather doesn’t help but I am getting so fed up. I have mentioned this to my GP and he has increased my Furosemide

COPD, Oedema & Heart
Hoping someone with similar problem can help please. For the last 2months I've developed Oedema, I had ECG on Thursday to see if it were heart related to be told by Dr everything looked normal. I'm wondering if it could be due to me taking Mirtazapine for the same length of time. My left leg is swollen

How do I deal with swollen legs and water retention?
WATER RETENTION IN MY LEGS I have been prescribed a medication called furosemide. I notice that one of the side effects listed is 'loss of hearing'. I have already lost most of the hearing in my left ear and dare not risk losing right ear hearing. Can anyone give me any info on this? Is there another

Today it is exactly one year since I waited on a bed in a cardio ward of an excellent Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, full of dread and anticipation to be trollied off to the operating

Ramipril and Furosemide and RLS
I was just wondering if anyone else is prescribed these medications? I was retaining a lot of water last year and my blood pressure was through the roof at times and now I take Furosemide 40mg for the water retention and Ramipril 2.5 caps for my blood pressure. I don’t know how long I’ll be on this

Reducing heart rate
Just diagnosed with severe mitral regurgitation and waiting for angiogram to discuss way forward. Worried about everything particularly low nighttime pulse rate. I am on two types of diuretics furosemide and spirinolactone. Anyone got experience of this?

Day 8 and hubby is still alcohol free
Hubby still has tremors, which the alcohol nurse thinks should have stopped by now? What do you guys think? However hubby is now worried that it might not be just down to the alcohol and that he actually might have Parkinson's Disease like his dad did? The alcohol nurse has asked us to contact hubby's

Swollen legs and ankles
Some time ago I wrote about the burning sensation in my ankles and feet at night. I thought it may be due to Bisoprolol 10mg. The consultant changed my medication to Dilthiazem but the pain has now spread to my knees and inner thighs. Also my legs and ankles are very swollen ant the skin is very red

How can I make my telephone appointment really effective?
At the beginning of March I was taken into hospital with a suspected heart attack. Four days later I was discharged with a diagnosis of unstable angina. The hospital was so busy that I never got to the cardiology ward, but was moved around to wherever there was a spare bed. So I never came into regular

Is LVSD heart failure
Hello all, I was recently diagnosed with mild LVSD after spending a day in hospital with low O2 sats. I have been prescribed Furosemide and have an appointment with my GP on 25th other than that I have been told nothing. I did the usual mistake of looking at doctor internet and all I see is heart failure

Hubby update, saw Hepatology Registrar
Hubby was very shocked at what she said. Hubby had a CT scan recently, it shows the lymph nodes in his lungs are stable, they are about 12mm in size. His liver is still Decompensated. She told hubby that his condition is very serious. She said that if he does not stop drinking, then he probably has
