Good evening everyone, Just following on my post from the 3rd July 2021.
Firstly I would just like to say a big thank you for all the replies, kind comments and advice.
I contacted my GP and he gave me a 14 day course of 40 mg Furosemide tablets. These seem to be helping although they do still puff up slightly as the day goes on.
They look their best first thing in the morning and then as the day goes on they slowly look pitted again. I have been trying to elevate them through the day also.
Kind regards
Joseph x

Sorry to hear this. When I had swollen ankles in hospital they made me wear support stockings. They are uncomfortable but do the trick. Also reduce your salt intake. When you lie down make sure your legs are raised higher than your chest.
Cas, HIYA. now, If I could lift my legs higher than my chest one would say I was ass over elbow ... Meaning I had fallen right over... OOPS, better watch I may get in trouble for being a baaaaaad boooooooy.... or maybe not nice to see you back tho, Joseph, there you go a nice new pair of stockings and you made up. but they do help no matter how many funny looks you get
Great advice from Caspiana. Those stockings do help ,a good tip is to put them on before getting out of bed.
Also I find that my feet swell in the afternoon so shoes that are comfy first thing in the morning dig into my feet by tea time.
Reducing salt intake has definately helped and keeping hydrated with water etc.
My family are quite used to me lying on my back with my feet up on the wall to reduce swelling (they also ably assist when can't get back up on my feet!)
Yes, I have this to Joseph n it can be uncomfortable. Came out of Hospital recently and from the Ribs down, was about twice my usual size! Those DVT stockings help and very wide Shoes. Plenty of rest too and slather in Aqueous cream after shower. Mine are considerably, better now. Hopefully yours will be too.👍🧓
Hi Joseph. I’ve been getting problems with swollen feet for a few years especially if I went abroad. My feet would really swell with the heat of being in a hotter climate. It’s not really bothered me too much until recently when the swelling was going up nearly to my knees. That bothered me so I contacted the Dr and they also put me on Furosemide but without a time limit.
Yes I have Caspiana ,my doctor did send me for a heart scan about eighteen months ago ,it was said my heart was ok ,so i dont no what is the cause ,I'm putting it down to old age 74 . The last tim I was on this forum before I lost it ,you had just had you transplant ,I think im correct in saying that ,you were doing well ,I hope you still are and in good health take good care Alice
I'm sorry to hear it Alice. 😐 The other potential offender could be your kidneys. But you are right. As we age, things start to slow down. As long as I get up everyday I'm pretty chuffed to be honest. Take care Alice. xx 😊👋
If I take my furosemide,I take usually in afternoon, when worst of dwellings evident.it also in my legs and abdomen - I recently measured my calves and they swelled 11/2" we
