Vasectomy complications with AMN?
Hello all, My wife and I just had our second child a month ago. We both agree we only want two children, so I have been planning to get a vasectomy to avoid future pregnancies. Today I met with a vasectomy specialist, and during our consultation, we had a long conversation about concerns with AMN. Because

Another flare, this time post-surgery
I was diagnosed April 2019. I've had 2 flares in that time, but managed to get down to 11mg, and was hoping to stay there another week before another Dead Slow Nearly Stop taper. I had a lumbar laminectomy on Sept 9th, after realising the terrible pain in my back and legs wasn't all PMR. (It can be

Bones to weak for surgery
My bones are too weak to have spinal surgery because the bones are not strong enough to hold screws cage etc. I was told some time ago now that I would most likely need to have replacement knees and hip replacement because of arthritis. If my bones are not strong enough to hold screws etc does this

Caude equina syndrome
Hello everyone hope you are all well? I had to have emergency spinal surgery last week as I suffered caude equina after a herniated disc compressed the nerves at the end of my spine. I still have saddle anesthesia and loss of feeling in back of right thigh and bottom of right foot. Has anyone on here

Spinal Cord Stimulation Alleviates Parkinson’s Pain in Small Study
Spinal cord stimulation can effectively decrease pain, and also may help alleviate motor symptoms, in people with Parkinson’s disease (PD), regardless of whether patients have previously undergone deep brain stimulation, a small study suggests. https://parkinsonsnewstoday.com/2020/10/02/spinal-cord-stimulation-alleviates-parkinsons-pain-small-study-suggests

Prednisone and spinal surgery
In a week I am having a laminectomy to relieve pressure on my spinal cord and nerves. Diagnosed with PMR in April 2019. Currently on 12.5mg prednisone, and on a very slow taper to 11.5mg over 5 weeks. How should I manage my steroid dose before and after surgery? Should I up the dose for a few days? Thanks

cyber knife aka SBRT
I am wondering if any one has experience with SBRT/Cyber Knife treatment. I get another PET on 9/1. First one was 3 mo. ago to look at a meningioma in my spine and lit up a 1.7cm tumor on my upper right lung lobe. I had the meningioma removed 7 weeks ago and now the thoracic surgeon wants a new PET

Ankyolosing Spondylitis and Adalimumab
I have Ankyolosing Spondylitis with a number of spinal fusions already. I started on Adalimumab at the end of April but it's not really helping. I have just had a phone appointment with the specialist nurse who told me that I can't expect to be pain free as I have a lot going on. I told her I don't

So much for my new beginnings!
2 weeks post spinal surgery I was going great guns and itching to start c25k again, then last Tuesday it was a 999 call and back into a different hospital with gallstones. Oh boy pain?... hmm. After a few days monitoring and administering fluids and antibiotics I looked a bit like an inflated version

New beginning
Well the spinal surgery has happened the consultant tells me it was successful. I am waiting to go home now to recover, just the small matter of moving house now! Hubby has been moving stuff while I’ve been in here loafing about, next weekend is the big move I will be directing but no lifting or handling
