Common Cold with Low Immune System
I have had Cyclophosphamide and currently on Azathioprine and for the first time in 11 months caught a cold. What happens? is it different? More severe? Just interested.

Mirtazapine
I've been doing some research on taking Mirtazapine when you suffer with COPD. I am quite anxious & feel quite stressed & last year while having a bad time with my COPD my Dr prescribed Mirtazapine, while taking this I felt I had more breath & felt able to cope better. Has anyone else tried this medication

Hi all, I'm struggling with taking vitamin D. When I take it it makes the whirring noise in my left ear really loud that it keeps me awake at night. I've only suffered with this since being on levothyroxine. As a result my vitamin D levels have dropped because I haven't been taking it because the noise

Petscan Results - Great News!
Did another petscan last Monday and the results compared to July's last scan were an absolute blessing. Scan summary says: "No definite hypermetabolic lesion to suggest FDG avid locoregional recurrence or metastatic disease. Stable faint uptake in right small axillary scar, likely post procedure.

Prednisone and spinal surgery
In a week I am having a laminectomy to relieve pressure on my spinal cord and nerves. Diagnosed with PMR in April 2019. Currently on 12.5mg prednisone, and on a very slow taper to 11.5mg over 5 weeks. How should I manage my steroid dose before and after surgery? Should I up the dose for a few days? Thanks

cyber knife aka SBRT
I am wondering if any one has experience with SBRT/Cyber Knife treatment. I get another PET on 9/1. First one was 3 mo. ago to look at a meningioma in my spine and lit up a 1.7cm tumor on my upper right lung lobe. I had the meningioma removed 7 weeks ago and now the thoracic surgeon wants a new PET

Ankyolosing Spondylitis and Adalimumab
I have Ankyolosing Spondylitis with a number of spinal fusions already. I started on Adalimumab at the end of April but it's not really helping. I have just had a phone appointment with the specialist nurse who told me that I can't expect to be pain free as I have a lot going on. I told her I don't

So much for my new beginnings!
2 weeks post spinal surgery I was going great guns and itching to start c25k again, then last Tuesday it was a 999 call and back into a different hospital with gallstones. Oh boy pain?... hmm. After a few days monitoring and administering fluids and antibiotics I looked a bit like an inflated version

New beginning
Well the spinal surgery has happened the consultant tells me it was successful. I am waiting to go home now to recover, just the small matter of moving house now! Hubby has been moving stuff while I’ve been in here loafing about, next weekend is the big move I will be directing but no lifting or handling

How concerned should I be about spreading oral herpes?
I’ve had oral herpes since I was about 13 and only recently found out that even when there is no outbreak or symptoms, there is still a risk you can pass on herpes. This has led me to become almost phobic of touching my own lips in case I spread it to myself genitally and I’m particularly scared of
