Telephone appointments with a Rheumatologist?
I have just received a Rheumatologist's appointment letter & was surprised to see that it will be conducted over the phone. I just wondered how common this is. I am still awaiting a definitive diagnosis having been told in January, March & June that I have seronegative inflammatory arthritis. The

After two successful years on this for RA I came crashing down a few weeks ago. Briefly a few or even more months ago I started really painful stomach cramps and were unbearable and were pretty constant. Let it go for a while and messaged the dept about them. Possibly not Beni although it can be a side

Update on appointment with professor Hughes
So I had a really good appointment today with professor Hughes. He listened to what I had to say and had read the medical history pre read I had sent him. After a good chat about my PMR/pred journey and all the steroid sparing drugs I had tried he came up with 3 options. 1. Stay on 10mg of pred and

I am back! In need of your excellent advice...
After successfully reducing to zero pred last autumn, the symptoms began to reappear. After advice about how to deal with a flare I increased the dose (to 15mg), but that didn't seem to help. Then I was given a depo-medrone injection, with the advice that it would last a couple of months and hopefully

Medrol to Hydrocortisone for suspected steroid withdrawal?
I've been on Medrol since mid-December -Had successfully reduced from 48 mg to 4 mg and was doing well. Reduced from 4 mg to 3.5 mg and have had extreme fatigue, weakness, lightheaded, brain fog, nausea. No signs of PMR flare. Went back to 4 for a couple days, then 6 and still a mess. I felt like I was

How do you handle high appetite?
Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing great. So I'm over 6 month post transplant, and as a part of my 3-component immunosuppression therapy I'm taking methylprednisolone (Medrol by Pfizer), 6mg. And my appetite is so unusually high! I'm almost always hungry. It takes me a lot of willpower and discipline

I got sick over 3 months ago and was prescribed a ZPack and a Medrol Pack. Three days into the treatment, I began experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, and insomnia. I continued the treatment and was told that my side effects would go away within 7-10 days after taking the last dose of the Medrol pack

Steroid side effects?
After my GCA diagnosis I am on 40 mg Medrol at the moment. The classic GCA symptoms like headache, jaw pain, scalp tenderness 99% gone. Also my dry cough is totally stopped. But.. I have other weird and frustrating symptoms. Constant tinnitus, ear pressure, tingling feeling in both of my feet and sole

HRT options
Hello All, I had the Mirena coil (IUD) since starting menopause and was taking oral oestrogen HRT in addition for the hot flushes (nearly 10 years now). I was on Elleste solo 1mg, which I only took every 3-4 days, as I found this dose was okay for controlling the flushes, if I took more my breasts
