Carpal tunnel/depo-medrol

Hello group; I hope you're keeping well.

I've been having a lot of pins and needles, mainly waking me up in my sleep, but also at other times of the day. In addition, my Raynaud's has been active as well. It looks as though I'm in a flare, as I also have some hip, knee and shoulder pain.

My question is, has anyone had carpal tunnel inflammation, presumably brought on by lupus/mixed connective tissue disease? If so, have you found that an injection of a systemic steroid (Depo-medrol) helps? I've had good relief from them for joint pain, but never tried for wrist issues. I'd rather have the depo-medrol than a specific injection into the joint (as I have a number of joints flaring at the moment).

I've had carpal tunnel in both hands. I had it several years before I was diagnosed with Lupus. I had the operation where a surgeon makes a simple cut over the tunnel to relieve the symptoms. It was done under local anaesthetic and took about 20 mins each time. I got instant relief. I have met people who did not have the operation and left it too long to be treated. Several of their fingers eventually curled with a debilitating effect.

I recall how I couldn't sleep due to the pins and needles. My advice would be to ask for a referral on the carpal tunnel. It may not be Lupus related.
