RA and hot flushes
I'm not on any rheumatoid meds at the minute due to adverse effects to mxt, sulphasalzine, leflunomide, Enbrel and recently Humira. I have taken daily prednisolone since 2013 and I'm desperate to get off them but can't until they find a medication that works for me. I saw a cardiologist in November

Low cortisol
Hello, I am new to this forum and would really appreciate any feedback regarding a blood test Ive just had with Blue Horizon. I am feeling quiet desperate and worried. I suffer with Hashimoto's but also with adrenal fatigue which I'm assuming is causing me problems with raising my thyroid meds. At present

Question about Cortisol
I am kinda low on cortisol from an adrenalectomy of one gland in April. I've been on Cortef since the surgery, on a taper for 5 months. I've been trying to learn about thyroid since I was dx'd in September w/Hashimotos. Believe me, it was quite the icing on the cake after having adrenal issues for

how much adrenal cortex extract per day?
There are supplements containing anything from 50 to 500 mg of ACE per capsule. I found one by Essential Therepeutics simply called Adrenal Cortex which provides 500 mg of bovine ACE per capsule, whereas 250 mg per capsule seems most common. Does anyone have any idea how much ACE to take? I realise

really good adrenal (cortex) supplement?
Sorry if this has already been discussed: I would like to know if anyone can recommend a really good product for adrenal fatigue? I have read so much about this...some recommend adrenal cortex extract (ACE) products only, to avoid additional adrenaline, while others say that, once the adrenal fatigue

Eye ointment for sjogren's syndrome?
Hello, I use Hylo-forte during the day for dry eyes & Lacri-lube at night both prescribed by my doctor. I am struggling with the Lacri-lube as it is fiddly to administer and I am not sure whether it is helping or not. Could you please advise as to another brand of eye ointment that I can use at night

Thumbs up for being prepared
Don't know how many times I've read on this site about having knowledge about your condition and treatment are paramount. I had an appointment with my EP yesterday afternoon. Prior to that I had done extensive research about my meds ,side effects and alternatives. We talked about why I was on certain

Calcium
There are places I read that if you have lupus, you need to limit dairy intake. Then further down in the same article, they say make sure that you get plenty of yogurt. I drink milk, eat cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt. I thought all dairy was equal. The rheumy has specifically instructed me to add

Wanted to throw this out there to see if I'm being unrealistic. I'm fairly health guy . Exercise regularly. Cholesterol levels are good. No high blood pressure.Recently had 3 stents put in and have PAF. I'm taking Eliquis,Lipitor, Coreg, Tikosyn and Plavix. I believe sometimes that less is more. I'd

Post hysterectomy advice needed
Hi guys, I started HRT a month ago (Elleste solo) and so far, so good, although the nagging abdominal pain continued. Brief history: several laparoscopies in between 2000 and 2004 looking for endometriosis, none found, zoladex attempted, two failed ablations, followed by a total abdominal hysterectomy

Do you think Chronic Fatigue Syndrome exists?
I'm interested to hear peoples views on CFS, and whether you think it exists - or whether you think it's a name given to a collection of issues not 'picked up' by our doctors (such as adrenal fatigue, hormone imbalances, thyroid problems, insulin resistance/pre diabetes and so on) I have actually been

What is the adrenal extract in Nutri Adrenal Extra?
Does anybody know if it contains adrenaline, or is this cortex extract? I'm considering using this instead of taking all the individual supplements, along with my adrenal cortex extract, but don't want to buy it if it contains adrenaline!

Adrenal stress test. How long should I stop taking adrenal cortex extract?
In light of my latest thyroid panel, I need to check my adrenals again. I have been taking adrenal cortex extract for a few months, so I'm not entirely sure how long I have to stop taking this for, before doing the saliva test? Somebody kindly pointed out that I have to be off it for two weeks beforehand
