Advice for a sister who won't listen
Anyways I've told her everything from cutting down on the
sodium
to not eating cold cuts, to watching her potassium but it's like talking to a wall. Also, my nephrologist told me I don't need to watch my diet but you guys have suggested it so the disease doesn't worsen.

Diet for Reducing Inflammation, Supporting Gut Health in Lupus Patients: A Nutritionist’s View
Decreasing the amount of the minerals zinc (found in milk, soybeans, and spinach) and
sodium
(less than 3 grams per day) in the diet can relieve symptoms. Increase selenium for improved adrenal function. Sources are found in nuts, whole cereal, and eggs.

Good morning, I enjoy reading and learning from everyone on this board! My dad (76) has been on this journey with stage 4 metastasized prostate cancer for a little over a year now. He has exhausted the majority of treatments. He has castration-resistant prostate cancer with progression despite abiraterone

Overwhelmed
However he has only ever told me to cut back on
sodium
and processed foods, I have asked multiple times to get referred to a renal dietician and he says I don’t need it. I reached out to a dietician but she didn’t specialize in renal.....that is just one thing that is bothering me.

Starting Radium 223 (Xofigo) next week
Having just finished a trial of carboplatin + docetaxel, I'll be starting Xofigo next week as a bridge to a pembro+ trial early next year. My latest PSA is 940, with no visible soft tissue involvement. I have a single-strand CDK12 defect. Hoping that the suggestion of this paper is true for me: Efficacy

Update on My Father's Cirrhosis - Seems Stable
Its hot weather here so he does drink almost 1.5ltr water plus we give him strict diet where
sodium
doesn't exceed 1500mg, mostly given veg and rice etc which are good for liver and kidney. Overall, he feels energetic - very much normal. He feels hungry, eats normal.
